That's been a nice rewatch of this - in my opinion - quite badly written episode with some interesting discussion points afterwards in the discussion. *1) Fullerton* - Dana raised the question how someone grown up in Utopia would came up with his silly ideas as he was portrayed in this episode. Steve, you've contested this by stating the background of his doesn't matter, we know such egomaniac guys from _our_ world so we just can accept him as the framework for this episode. I disagree. To make him a _believable_ figure you need to deliver some background information why he's so convinced of his maniac assumption the federation was to weak to face "the dangers waiting out there". Without a slightest hint of this the premise of the story breaks. *2) Worf's psychology* - Nothing against adding the background of his to having killed a fellow child by accident and feels therefore afraid of loosing control. But how is this connected to him becoming a terrorist to prey on the people of Risa? That doesn't make any sense at all! And it doesn't explain his anti-hedonistic mindset either. If this childhood experience of his was really that traumatic why does he prefer to fight his beloved Jadzia so hard with sharp weapons in the Holodeck instead of heaving a romantic experience? Naa, this is completely rubbish from my perspective, a perfect thinking they've got a nice idea but didn't follow it through.
