Thanks for the helpful video. I sprained my Flexor carpal ulneris at an armwrestling tournament yesterday and wasn’t sure about anti inflammatories but I’m not in much pain and I’m happy to just let it heal with no medication.

Hello, I did mine throwing my dumbbells off me doing heavy shoulder press. How can I reduce injury in the gym in the future? Thinking of sticking to machines

Great video! I sprained my wrist 4 weeks ago after a fall/impact on my palm. There was no swelling or even bruising, pain was so slight that I thought i'd probably be okay within a few days. I had full range of motion pretty much the next day. Here I am a month later and still getting pain on the outside of my wrist ulnar side. It's really messing with me as I'm a gym 4x a week kind of guy and it's been affecting pressing movements to the point I'm mostly avoiding them. Is this normal?

You could try using a wrist brace to limit motion into ulnar deviation. It could be a sprain/injury to your TFCC.

Hi, what did you do to help this? I am going onto my 3rd week with the same problem. I hurt my wrist by benching and over extending my wrist wrong. I didn"t stop going to the gym too long and never used a brace daily. But i also never has any bruises or swelling. But the pain continues to bug me.

Hey! Thanks for the video. I’m here after a bike crash that (according to my doc 20ish hours afterwards) shows no fractures. I’m definitely not feeling pain when moving fingers but the area right below the wrist hurts on touch. Also achieving full ROM on extension or contraction hurts. I’ve now stopped using it (and wrapped it up), ice it and use gels to fight inflammation further. Doc said 7-10 days of that and I should then start moving it. He also said no massaging? Why would that be? Also no heat? I’m also wondering about supination - I do this even with the wrap while sleeping. I feel no pain but wondering if I should go up to the elbow with immobilization? Seeing that it’s been a month since the video could you comment on rough timeline of progress - that’d be helpful!

You definitely do not need to wrap all the way to the elbow for a wrist sprain. Also, when healing from an acute injury, ice will help much more than heat. Heat can actually promote prolonged inflammatory processes. Massages likely won't help a wrist sprain. Hope you're doing better!

I strained my right wrist 2 months ago, X-ray and ultrasound showed nothing, but finally I got to do my MRI a couple days ago and it was discovered I had partially tore one ligament and completely torn another ligament. All this time I hadn’t used compression or braced my wrist until recently, and been through physiotherapy without knowing the extent of the damage. The pain is still there even when in rest. Is my wrist screwed for recovery?

Hi! A torn wrist ligament definitely has limited options for a full recovery. Bracing the wrist initially should at least get rid of the pain at rest. Then slowly strengthen. It may not get to 100% but hopefully you can do most of what you want without too much trouble.

Same boat, four months after a severe right wrist sprain (I'm right handed darn it), could not afford the medical bills (US), I'm still in constant wrist pain, I cannot even position myself to do a push up, I cannot grasp stuff, nor pull with my wrist, like lifting a bag, I'm very worried and have fallen into depression. I've screwed myself up for life.

I was doing bent over barbell rows and my outside my left wrist popped a little bit later it started to hurt a lot to where I couldn't even really pick things up I figured it was a sprain and after a weak most of the pain was gone I didn't use any ice and I didn't use a brace 9 weeks later it still isn't fully healed like it gets irritated like an irritated light pain so I don't think I fully let it heal if I start using a brace now can I get it to heal better or have I screwed up the healing time since it's been a while

I think you could try wearing a brace for a week or two and see if that will get you to fully heal. Sounds like overall you are getting better, which is good.

Hi! I just also hurt my wrist about three weeks ago. I was benching and I think i over extended my wrist. I didn't get any swelling or bruising but after two days it started to hurt and progress from there. I never immobilized it, I gave it a maybe three days to rest and tried to gym again ever since. I dont know if to start to immobilize it now and try from there...

Yes! We'd recommend immobilizing until the pain has decreased to let the wrist heal.

Clicking without pain is usually okay. If it is painful, we'd recommend he go in for some imaging on the wrist.

Wow! I learned a lot from the video. The ER Dr gave me pain meds and a brace, and the workmens comp Dr gave me work restrictions and an option to wear the brace. So it never occurred to me to use an ace bandage to immobilize my wrist with instead of a brace. It's a huge difference. Thanks again. 😊

I’m here for the same reason. I had an ACE knee bandage as an emergency- used it for my wrist- but bought a brace. The bandage is way more comfortable for me.

Thanks for the informative video! So I believe I sprained my wrist roughly 3 months ago and I still had wrist mobility. Except my TFCC area still tends to hurt alittle bit when I apply pressure (like riding a bike) and on top of that my wrist pops now! 😢before I had it checked up, the chiropractor popped it back in place and it felt better. I stupidly went back to the gym and started playing basketball because it didn’t hurt as much anymore. Now it has some sensitivity and it pops now and sometimes there is slight pain whenever I twist my wrist to pop it 😢 what should I do?

Did you get it checked out since then? There's another video talking about a wrist popping and how it needs surgery to repair. That this may be worse than a normal sprain. The Dr said the pain was in the break of the wrist. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z5-cwdt6famWiJM.htmlsi=0kCoxHpApRKDPjcU
