    How long should a grade one wrist sprain heal? I did dumbbell bench press one week ago and only the day after did I feel tightness in it. Rested for a week and tried to gym again...but when I tried doing dumbbell bench press again, it felt weird and I stopped. The next day it was tight again (only in pronation and pronated extension). I once had a wrist injury that was more painful than this but only took 2 weeks to heal. How long should I rest it for and how do I know if it healed properly?

    without a proper assessment i cannot give you an exact time but most injuries heal in 4-8 weeks. Make sure you are stretching and strengthening your wrist but don’t be afraid to use wrist wraps as needed during the recover phase as well.

    @@dr.smith_dpt if I try to do strengthing exercises, wouldn’t it delay the recovery time?

    @@briansim7343 No, loading joints actually promotes healing. Start slow and light but overtime proper loading will speed up the health process. That being said wait at least 48-72 hours after an acute injury.
