@@jvkenshin416 Not just their dead. Tarra, one of the elephants at the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee had a stray dog that she was friends with. They napped together and Tarra even shared some of her food with Bella. When Bella died, Tara was devastated and visited Bella's grave often.

Wow, seeing a grown man walk underneath like that really gives you a sense of the scale of these magnificent creatures!

It's remarkable to see a bull elephant that can crush you like a bug being so pleasant and cooperative and completely at ease with his human family.

Amazing how this gentle giant lifts his trunk for you to treat his tusks. He knows you're going to help him. Such trust! Absolutely amazing.

I think it’s funny that we say, “Good boy” to this huge, magnificent creature. He needs a bushels of apples to satisfy his taste. Jabu absolutely understands he’s being helped. Maybe they’re more intelligent than us.

R.I.P. Doug. Your care for these gentle giants is much appreciated. This was never about size but about love and trust.

Jabu is such a loving, gentle giant. He was lucky to find such loving, caring foster family.

The level of cooperation and intelligence was emotional to say the least, god bless these fine people and the elephants.

I have NEVER seen a more cooperative and sensitive animal! It could easily knock him into tomorrow if it wanted, but allows him to get into those hard to reach areas!! Amazing!!

Spot on, but does he really need this, this process should occure naturally in the wild !!!!! Give them melons instead , appples are too small !!!!!

Even when his stress glands on the side of his head start leaking, as a direct result of physical pain... he is still very gentle and seems to understand that they are helping, after enough times he probably has learned that he feels better after getting help. Very cool! Very smart! I am in awe. He even got his “lolipop”.

This is the biggest periodontal treatment ever. He endured his deep cleaning much better than I do. The trust between Jabu and this little man is amazing.

What a privilege...to have that trust both ways and to be with one of nature’s most amazing animals. That’s awesome!

It's amazing to see an animal weighing easily well over six tons being so gentle, cooperative, and careful not to harm his humans in the slightest. He certainly trusts you and will do whatever he can to make it easier for you. He couldn't have better humans.

Love how patient he is with what must be an uncomfortable procedure. Thanks for sharing the whole process, very educational and for me at least entertaining 👍🏻🐘❤️

I don’t really wonder about them. I just think some automatically downvote everything because they can or they don’t like some aspect like audio or camera movement. But I upvoted this rare opportunity to view an elephant hold his trunk while he’s being cared for. He truly is intelligent.

The way he lifts his trunk so that he can be treated is amazing.

So up close with an elephant for the first time. The sight inside his mouth was very unique.

You are doing something that's so amazing and appreciated. Not to mention you are so brave. Not many ppl would be so brave. I know I wouldn't. I found this so fascinating! Thank you. 🙏🏼😊

He is so calm because Elephants live a long life and during his life he remembers everything. They say "Elephants never forget". They really dont, very intelligent animal.

The trust Jabu has in those humans is really amazing! And watching him with his mouth open patiently waiting for an apple was cracking me up!

He had to be cared for by humans since a baby and remember that they are there to help not hurt him elephants remember everything..

Actually its like humans taking care of cats or hedgehogs, humans can crush them with ease given their sizes but loves them affectionately and even tolerates and forgives a few bites and scratches now and then.

He is perfectly understands what’s happening to him, even his girlfriend waiting patiently.

0:13 Man. Sometimes because of the angle of the camera, the cuts, or the lack of a recognizable point of comparison makes it hard to realize how huge these animals are. But here you can see that this guy basically "fits" inside the elephant's leg and there is still room to spare. That´s enormous.

What a beautiful animal. So gentle and kind and caring, he knows you’re helping and he does as he’s trained. How could anyone want to hurt an elephant.

I love seeing people taking care of giant animals with such skill and comfort.

actually many african elephant are this huge, you only think this one is big because he is standing next to a guy and that gives you a perpective of its size.

When the dentist scrapes at the plaque is really the most awful feeling after drilling, so I can't imagine how tender teeth that big crusted with so much gunk would be. Even if he's flinching because it understandably hurts, he's got incredible self-control.

Aw, he is such a good patient! Very composed and still for you to get right up in there; while you can tell while it’s not the most fun, he understands that you’re helping him with his owies, like you said. Trying to stop a little owie from becoming a bigger owie.

Elephants have always amazed me. Not just for their physical characteristics, but for their intelligence as well. Here you have a 6 ton creature that could easily crush the handler, but the elephant probably at least to some degree acknowledges it’s for his own good even though it might sting a bit. The fact he’s being very cooperative with the man working on him and that they don’t have to sedate the him shows just that.
