my hobbywing axe system went in no problems with the lights just soldered the red plug into the solder points for the battery. so basically what you did but on the other end of the cable

Great list of items I always wandered what was up with the wheels and tires....I have a couple TRX's but no 6X6's although I do plan on getting one...great vid👍👍

11:50 minutes into the video - Always read the instructions you do have to buy the TRX4 light kit but you do not put the lights in the rear of the TRX6 truck you have to buy the extra 2 lights in another light kit to fit in the rear of the truck.. 👍😎

When you tried the speed, were the diffs locked or not? Goes slower when the diffs are locked

you'd be right on the one take, but have you ever seen anything like this do that, it went on it's side, I thought uh oh, then it rolled again, and again all in slow motion.....I couldn't do that again if I tried a million times. I had to stop filming as I couldn't stop laughing. I kept looking at it thinking no it's not just done that!!! :-)

How much is it? I'd consider a BangGood buy. Maybe $320 or so but would need to know if there's parts support. I don't need something that has six wheels just to be different but it did crawl up some 1x4s which is pretty neat. I quit buying the throwaways but still keep my JLToys and my led drones. Whats the battery connector?

Some interesting observations, thanks. But those tires are not 1.9 'stretched' to 2.2. That simply wouldn't work. They're a 2.2 tire with a 4.8 outer diameter. Also, it DOES NOT have the long travel kit. Those are exactly the same shocks as a stock TRX-4.

Gregg yes I get the tire thing but hopefully you got the point I was trying to get across ref sidewall. As for the long travel kit, traxxas website specifically refers to it as having the long travel shocks so I went by that

You can put 1.9 tires on 2.2 wheels. I do it all the time. Makes it look like it's running a 20" wheel. Not only that but since you've stretched the tire you actually get a little more sidewall bite on the ground. It's a pain to do but worth it in my opinion

Can’t you just plug the light kit on the esc aux port with an adapter?

@@DriftomaniacsRC since you put a brushless motor and a different esc did it lose any of its crawling capabilities? Like tourqe or hill braking?

Have you tried plugging in a 6s battery into the esc and did the light power module still work?

It’s two light kits , the second kit is for the front lights , there are 10 rock lights all together. Front kit is 8897 I believe

Yes exactly the traxxas site says you must buy the standard light kit for 35 bucks and the extension kit which has 2 additional lights. If you run it like the diagram says you will not have a problem and plenty of slack. I just wish the servo cable was longer because my new servo just made it to the power supply.

Heavily considering getting the TRX 4 or TRX 6 for my son's first big boy RC car. I only let him drive it with me around just so nothing gets broken. Would it be a bad idea to get the 6x6 as a first?

Meh, I’m 14 and 2 years ago I got a Kanyon. Decent crawler and perfect for me as a beginner. I’m looking to buy a TRX-6 or a TRX-4 now, but I don’t think you can go far wrong.

Are you sure it’s recommended to shift speeds on the fly? I’m thinking that’s a way to wear it out much quicker.

yes you can change it on the fly, I've had a TRX4 since the day they first launched and it still runs fine, if you have some mechanical sympathy you can change it whilst stationary but you need not if you don't want to. but I get where you are coming from

Those tires are better than any rtr 1.9 I've ever tried. Some of the best tires imo overall

If you check out the box art and the website for Traxxas I think there are only 4 rock light sockets in the rear , correct me if I’m wrong. I have the black one and it has 10 rock light sockets 🤔😎

Sorry about this! I love your channel Ritchie, but I have to correct ya on your tire size info? 1.9 & 2.2 is the measurement of the diameter of the hole in the middle of the tire. It doesn’t matter how much overall diameter the tire is (how much side wall)? If a 1.9 goes in the centre hole? It’s a 1.9. If a 2.2 goes in the centre hole? It’s a 2.2. Traxxas did not stretch a 1.9 on to a 2.2. The over all diameter of the tire is not what makes it a 1.9 or 2.2

it was meant as a kind of figure of speech thing not meant so literally! :-) however fact remains the tire is the same size diameter as the TRX4 (with 1.9 rim) but is 2.2 dia so the sidewall is less hope you kind of get where I was coming from? All I was trying to get across is that sidewall makes it much stiffer than if the wheel was 1.9. My 2.2 wheels and tires are much larger diameter than these though I'm no expert (clearly! :-) on crawler tires

Absolutely got it bro! And completely agree with your points about higher & lower profile tires. The tires that rig comes with are definitely better for cornering and couldn’t agree more about having more sidewall on a crawler! 👍 if you have some time, come check out what I did about the wheel set that came with my TRX4 Mercedes G-500? @@DriftomaniacsRC Yes they show it. But who do you think earns money, wenn your transmission breaks?🙄 Look at different forums, you don’t see any shifting wenn running it. Have seen several post of broken transmission because of shifting while driving..
