Cool to see it next to the E-Revo. Really shows how they took the styling of it. You also pointed something out that I never thought of. With it being the same platform as the slash 4x4, you already know what needs to be upgraded for it to fit your needs👍

4 years ago and the rustler vxl 4x4 is still a great little truck to have in the collection. That and the newer ones have updated stronger drive shafts and arms!

I just got a newer rustler 4x4 (not vxl) it came with factory installed front and rear led lights, the XL5 speed control and the Titan 12T 550 How can I put street tires on it, and make it to like 20 mph faster. Right now it’s kinda quick but I’m used to now and want to go faster. Any recommendations

I’m running amazon $30 LNL aluminum big bore shocks for the slash 4x4 since the stock shock cap blew off. No problems since. Bashed every weekend since October 12th and nothing broken since shock upgrade. Keep you eye on the knuckle hinge pin as mine backed out so I just shoegoo them in. Great car and looking forward to the bash vids.

I love the unboxings the style you make them is funny and cool, i love when you throw the rc cars to the table or to the floor with slow moton and we can see the suspension travel very cool part and make the cars to look beasts. Also i like in 10:00 the front wheel is in the air because of donuts very cool part.

I picked one of these up last week. It is an absolute blast.

Looking forward to seeing your outcast in action. I have the outcast and you get less flex in the shorter chassis. Fantastic on the bmx track and will jump all day. Also better for the skatepark than the Kraton which is better on dirt. You should take the outcast and Kraton over to Royston bmx track as I’ve seen you go there in the older videos. Also if it’s not busy the Saffron Walden skatepark is also good and is bigger. Matthew

I'm soo glad I waited for Traxxas to come up with better RC's and glad to hear Rustler is a great choice. I was thinking about the Bandit but it wasn't gonna work out. I'm looking at Rustler and Traxxas Monster Trucks I can use for my Ramps.

Hah. After this thing being out 4 years I finally got one. Awesome truck. Don’t know why it took me so long to finally get one.

Put thinner shock spacers on it and it flips super easily on stock gearing and 3s and it also takes landings WAY easier. Hope this helps!

lol parachuting has never been a problem for me because I don't take my RC's 70ft into the air for a death ride XD

Will you add thicker oil and or stiffer springs to the shocks? It is always noticeable how hard the slap on the chassis is, even on the small drops during a lot of the videos.

Kev, how long do your batteries last per rc run? I have Traxxas batteries and they usually run for like 20-30 minutes depending on your driving style.

The front spring lower cups were the first thing that came off my unit as well. Followed by repeatedly breaking the plastic front differential outputs.

In the fpv quad and plane world I've always used turnigy and other various hobbyking batteries. Recently I bought the boy and I 2 slashes and just bought the traxxas batteries and chargers the batteries are holding up pretty good, have about 100 runs on all 4 of them and no puffing or anything, they seem to be holding up well.

Kev do you think I could put a ezrun max8 in my Maverick Strada sct and run it on 6s or should I be sensible and put a max10 and 4s in instead

I had a 2wd rustler for 3 years now and I love the thing...Titan 12t, no upgrades and it runs like a champ... I upgraded to a 2 we Slash both great trucks however I prefer the rustler it fits my driving style better. Recently I've been thinking about upgrading to four wheel drive platform. And I think the rustler is going to cut it. However watching the video following only problems I saw was that the body kept falling off and God damn thing broke in half.

Used my new rustler 4x4 vxl on a dirt road for 5 minutes and it stopped working I think the slipper is locking never jumped it running 3s piece of rubbish

Hi Kev, after watching tens of your videos I am in the hobby like literally looking at the RC model to buy and this comes with the question… what should I get? It needs to be def Traxxas as I am currently living in Bulgaria and here the parts etc. are only available for Traxxas… On my list I have Erevo 2.0 or Rustler 4x4 vlx. The price difference is not that big of the model so this is why I am keep wondering. Seems like it’s bigger fun with Erevo 2.0. Keep up with all your work and your Monster Track! Good luck

Love the convenience and look of the traxxas batteries NO pigtails BUT the cells are weak! It dont take long before they start puffing.

I feel the Kraton isn't the car suited for your bashing style. You tend to do point and shoot bashing at a skate park (line up a jump then do a flip or something) which is why i think you like the xmaxx so much. It is powerful and durable but has shit handling so you can't really take it to a bmx track and land jump after jump and drift around corners like you can with a Kraton. A metal chassis is not good on a concrete skate park but it really excels on dirt. The E-revo might be similar but still wont perform as well on a track. You bring up Rich Duperbash and his Arrmas a lot and if you look at his vids, he is always on dirt. With rc's its all about terrain. The xmaxx is good for the skate park, the Kraton for the bmx track.

Kevin Talbot I couldn’t get it to backflip with stock pinion people told me 14 is the sweet spot n the 17 it backflips easily. Also if u see the springs seem to be too short n needs more spacers or it’s gonna come apart like it did, but ur putting platinum shocks on so ur all good

Hi there Kevin, I have a question. I have A RC 10 scale beswit monster truck. It loses connection between the radio and the car. While it's in motion, the lights start blinking it. Stop running for a few seconds, then start back running again. What could that be I wonder? It's out the box ready to run RC car.

You know, Kev, if you want some better stunt performance from this truck, you just need bigger, ballooning tires! That gives it more rotational mass, which will make the truck turn faster in the air.

Hey Kev 4+ years late, you’re probably always aware of this, and you likely won’t see this but the Proline Flowtek Fusion body really really helps the Slash 4X4 with parachuting.

Cant wait to get mine.
