My Rusty ran 76mph on the stock tires, and 81mph on the Slash sct tires. Running the stock soggy suspension, I've have never tested any other tires. I do love the Rusty vxl though!!! AWESOMENESS on this back to back run!!! 😎

Hell yeah man this really makes me wanna fix up my old rustler and get it back on the road!!

@@UDRC85 how do I get my rustler 2wd from spinning out when I hit throttle? Do I have to pull trigger soft and then start to pull it more once it starts to go faster?

@@rclunatic yes that’s one way. You can also loosen the slipper clutch a bit.

@@UDRC85 I don’t have a slipper clutch kit I eliminated it and just put a pinion on the slipper clutch shaft with a pinion on the motor shaft now i have direct power i also locked the differential with a spool locker

@@rclunatic then you will have to adjust the pull with the shock spring and shock oils. Make sure the camber are even on each side and if the car pulls to the left on take off adjust the right rear spring tension down or crank it down a little turn at a time.

For that set up I would use grp foams no grip for lightweight cars

Which foam tires are you using. Thing is fast 💨!

How did you mount the esc??? What gearing

Is there a reason for the esc more in the middle?

Which gearing are you running 31-76??

They are bsr foam pink compound. You can get them from most hobby store or online. 17mm hubs.

Can’t wait to be in the club hit 63 today I’m slowly gaining but for where I’m running it at I’m lucky to hit 63

Hey man this was awesome to watch! I just ordered the gearing and I'm trying to scope out a good spot. Definitely need good vision for something like this! Can I ask if you added weight to the front? This car has wayyyyy to much weight in the back, I'm planning on zip-tieing some lead fishing sinkers to the front somewhere, but I don't want to slow it down.

What tires are those

I've completely modified my own widen the body just enough by putting a carbon fiber plate across the the upper chassis to place a Max 5 and put in a TP 4070cm 2200kv 8s motor. It is extremely fast and powerful for the size. Since I only widen the body enough with the Carbon fiber plate to fit large batteries and the Max 5. It just a little larger than original but extremely fast and powerful. I don't have the space to really run it any where near it's potential. I've only gone up to 81mph. I however have gone 70mph near 40 times with ease.

Most definitely. You have a killer setup. I enjoy the rustlers. They are fun and cheap but very versatile.

@@UDRC85 They are. Putting a 5th scale system on a 10th scale vehicle means it' way over powered. I like to over power them.

I run these bsr foams with 17mm adapters. Or run jaco foams. Not sure if you are looking for drag or speed run tires, if so the. These will work.

How did you figure out the rules for the 70 mile an hour Club I'm working on my Rustler and want to make sure when I do it I do it right if you don't mind saying

Damn bro. I just picked me up a nitro rustler and slapped that 3.3 in it, I can't get the top speed cause it lifts off approaching full throttle. What has to be done to make it 70mph+ capable? I'll pick one up tomorrow 💯🤞🏾

I have some weights on the front, pull slow on the throttle and gear it to the moon 🤣. The box has the gearing info with speeds you can hit with the gearing.

So I’m looking at today’s version rustler vxl 2wd out of the box will it have a hard time staying on the street?

I'm finding mine to be way too light in the front to be stable at high speed. If it ever stops raining here I'm planning to add weights in 1 ounce increments to the front and run it.

I used the stock system in mine. Lower the car by moving the shock to a different location, look on the box it tells you what gears you need to go fast.

What is that you use to track the speed. I would love to get that.
