I just got my traditional 3-year visa on my US passport. I am trying to figure out how I will access Russia this mid May (2024). I am thinking of flying either to Helsinki, Finland, or Tallinn, Estonia, or Riga, Latvia, and then going to the Russian border by land. But this area seems tense right now. Or to Astana, Kazakhstan and then Omsk, Russia, by land. Is there a reliable and updated website that lists the open frontiers? Does anyone know the border situation, please? I called the Russian Consulate in USA and they told me they do not know about the situation at the border crossing into Russia for tourists. Thank you

As far as I know Finland's land borders with Russia are closed, while Estonia and Latvia's are open for now, but could be closed soon. Another option is to pass through Georgia, which has an open land border to Vladikavkaz.

Hi bro Ivan. I have only two questions. Do i need to contact travel agency for e visa because when i contacted the embassy they told me to get some kind of voucher from agency but i found this e visa thing and i wanna know if i have to contact anything from my cou try or no. It is Macedonia in English (Makedonija in Macedonian). By the way, Macedonian citizens did not need a visa to travel to Russia as tourists. I traveled in 2017 to Saint Petersburg without visa, only with an invitation letter from a friend that lived in Saint Petersburg. When I entered Russia, the border officials gave me a Russian document which I had to carry with me always together with my passport. Upon exit, I returned the Russian document to the border officials and that was all. Anyway, thank you for the useful information.

Turkey was on the list right for visa to russia? By the way, come to think of it, There is no visa needed for russian coming to Turkey… quite possible its also not needed. Please check Edit. It sema visa is required. Is there a chance to ask on visa website for Assistance?

I've been waiting for my teaching job to be approved by Russian Immigration. Feels like it's taking forever.

It is, well vaalimaa is the finnish border checkpoints name, but yeah yiu can. The list is in the link in description with all the bordercrossing. But pretty much all were included

For example Euro, but i think any kind of currency is okay to exchange (the usuak once). Make sure the bills are in great shape and with no markings from a pen for exammple.
