I’m half convinced the baggage scanners spotted the equipment and tipped off an accomplice to take all the gear.

Guys next time buy a passenger seat for your equipment. That is what Pro-Musicians do because Airlines NEVER take care of professional equipment as their owners would . So buy 1 additional seat for your equipment and you save a lot of trouble !. Hope the other bag appears as well !

It was Intentionally lost by the baggage workers. This happens more then you might think. I had an apple air tag in my baggage. They lost my equipment last year on a flight from Seattle to Phoenix. I was able to track it to an employee that worked at the airports home in Seattle and the cops retrieved it for me. I WOULD START USING THEM IF I WAS YOU. They are a great tool for your safety as well as your luggage.

Should've put one of them fancy trackers in each of the bags.

Those people definitely stole them, there is no way. 1 month?! I doubt there will be anything in the bag

There’s a guy in Canada who left British Columbia to go to London. His bag went to an airport his airline supposedly didn’t fly to and he followed it for weeks with an air tag. It went to like Norway at one point, and a whole bunch of other countries before being delivered to a random guys house in a holiday town in the UK by car and the owner called the local police who picked it up from the guy who was really nice about it and finally shipped it to him at his expense. It’s the Wild West right now for airline luggage.

update: Unfortunately it's the less valuable bag that they retrieved.

After hearing this story, I wouldn't put anything in a check in bag that didn't have a GPS luggage tracker on it. Do they make those with photocells that can sense and alert when a bag is opened?

I’m convinced someone stole it. Zero chance anyone working around those expensive things would look at it and not take that chance

They only said, they found a bag. But not a word if anything is inside.

At this point, anyone who's carrying high-value product like this should know to tag these things before packing them.

the fact an airline can still just "lose" bags is baffling to me, after how many "lost" bags will the airlines and security work on this

It seems so shady that this happened to two particularly valuable bags like that. That’s so messed up.
