I'm not sure how it works with European companies but if this were the US you absolutely could take them to court for something that expensive, and considering how many people were affected it could potentially be a class action lawsuit. Knowing the boys though it probably wouldn't be worth the time or the money to lawyer up and fight Aer Lingus over this since they probably have lawyers on retainer.

@@Milfappreciater That makes sense now that you mention it, the airline company has no way of verifying the contents of each luggage in order to argue in court against someone claiming that the airlane lost luggage with XYZ inside of it and no insurance company would insure things they don't know the value of since people could lie, people could claim they lost expensive things when they didn't, when you order things online the insurance is either automatic or you choose to pay it but this insurance exists because everyone knows exactly what is being sent (I paid for a 2 or 3 dollar insurance when buying PC parts for example), yeah they should have insured it since it was so expensive or figured something out.

Companies should be held accountable for losing peoples things. 50k is no laughing matter and that's equipment lost as well as another 50k to replace the lost equipment. The airlines as well as the airport where the equipment was lost should be held accountable for lost luggage and should be made liable if peoples things are lost, stolen or damaged.

Class action by definition requires a large group of affected individuals being represented by one person suing based on impact. For this to be class action would assume that the boys either 1) gathered all people who lost luggage in a similar vein to sue on their behalf (tons of effort for almost no return since awarded damages are distributed to all of the group) or 2) decided to gather viewers as a group "damaged" by the loss of their equipment and sue on their behalf (absolutely insane 0% winning strategy). So either way it would be an insane way to utilize specifically a class action lawsuit Horrible situation horrible company, but absolutely useless situation to use a class action lawsuit in
