You can tell even from the videos that she’s not a troubled, antagonistic kid, she actually really sweet and gentle and just wants to be living in a happy harmonious house. I talk from experience, our daughter is 16 and she’s just such a great kid, and we are by absolutely no means model parents, but we just try and lead with love, and also remember that she’s just a kid, and that she’s doing her best, and that like all of us, she has good days and bad days, but if you focus on the good days, they will soon FAR outweigh the bad xxx

    If she lost it safely, 1-2lbs per week, it's not unhealthy. She's not close to underweight now, which means she had 20lbs to lose. I wish my parents had helped me lose 20lbs when I was her age, even though I didn't know I needed to. Chubby kids tend to become fat adults. The issue _how_ she lost the weight. Not by the adults in her life modeling a healthy diet and regular exercise for the whole family, but by restricting the child's diet. The former will help throughout the kids' lives. The latter will destroy their self esteem and possibly lead to disordered eating not far down the road.

  • @NicolonCancer

    @NicolonCancer

    8 күн бұрын

    What is unhealthy is that she looks healthy now, but she had to lose 6 pants sizes to get to that weight. As long as it wasn’t 20lbs in a short time, and it was really more like 1/2 lbs a week and lost through mildly increased play/activity and the child was getting nutrient dense whole foods and it wasn’t weaponized or used as a punishment… there’s nothing wrong with focusing on getting your child into a healthy weight range. I think it’s child abuse/neglect to allow your 11 year old to carry around an extra 20+ lbs. that is a LOT of weight on a tiny body. Edit: idk the situation here or how the parents are. But just making the argument that is “could” have been done with good intentions and in a healthy way.

If I ever need anything, I just have to ask. He's never once said no to me about something unless he genuinely can't afford it, and even then, he'll say when he can do it and apologise profusely in the meantime. I am grateful that I don't have to worry about not being provided for or worry about having to ask for anything. And like you, I don't take the piss and ask for things that I don't need like expensive luxuries. I'm happy and well taken care of as a SAHM

    A liter is about 34 oz. A shot is about 1-2 oz. Average is about 1.5 oz and that’s a good pour at a bar. If he’s drinking 1 liter a week (sometimes two) that’s an average of about 3-4 drinks a day. That’s not 3-4 5% beers. Thats liquor. A completely different “buzz” in my opinion. One drink a day, maybe you don’t have a problem. 3-4 drinks with liquor… 😬

Her job is to be a strong adult that has good ears, good advice, and loving arms. Not a big mouth, yelling and screaming, ignoring her and saying she doesnt listen to her. She doesnt have to you are not the parent.

Wants to quit desperately but has relapsed for years, vicious cycle. It not only damages the liver but also the brain, long term. He lost his family bc of it. Otherwise good person when not drinking. @Pencil950 That lady with the weird hair is (in my point of view) someone who maybe has grown up in a bad family situation and has developed what is called "learned helplessness". The inability to rise above the situation to improve her circumstances because she's been beaten down so many times as a young child and teenage years. It takes a lot of strength to break out of that controlling environment.
