@@shikhasinghchandel I dont follow a specific routine. I just meditate whenever I get some free time. At least twice a day. I just simply remind myself the reason why I want to meditate and the benefits I'll reap in both short and long term. That usually works for me.

Just adding that your teaching on how to meditate anywhere and anytime was transformative to my life. Any time I was on the way to work or waiting somewhere I would come back to breath and be present. Thank you for your teachings :) I have seen your talk on your anxiety and how you faced it and as a fellow human who has dealt with anxiety and panic attacks all his life I now feel at peace most of the day with little interruptions of "wild thoughts" here and there. Just wanted to express my gratitude for your help. May all sentient beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.

Thank you, Rinpoche. I'm terrified of the dentist and have spent the last two years really focused on your teachings. Today, I went to the dentist and although it wasn't pleasant, there was NO panic! I was able to stay relatively calm throughout. Now I know I'll be just fine for my oral surgery next week. Thank you!!!

@@KultrunAus I got it done. Extensive surgery (3 hours), wide awake, something I never thought I could do. I actually brought my cell and ear buds in the OR with me and made a playlist of things to listen to including some of Rinpoche's longer videos. I reminded myself to focus on my breath. Honestly, it really did help me to just grit through it.

You didn’t need any meditation for that. Just exposure. Classic CBT. You wasted your time with this „teachings“. Just go to the dentist and your brain learns it‘s nothing to be afraid of. No meditation needed. Don‘t use meditation for irrelevant, small stuff like dentist visits. That‘s like using a golden spoon for eating dirt.

  • @onemorething123

@@Chrisko1492 I respectfully disagree. As someone who has a phobia of dentists, and just went through five molar extractions, two impacted wisdom teeth, wide awake, I needed to find ways to calm myself down to get in the chair in the first place. 'Irrelevant small stuff' - those of us who are terrified of the dentist don't consider the process 'small'. WE have panic attacks. These teachings stopped me from panicking so I could get all this done. So, I respectfully disagree. Thank you for your comment.

Universe shouldn’t even need to show anyone honestly…meditation is essential in everyone’s life like breathing it’s amazing how many focus on only their exteriors in this society and can’t sit still or not talk or sit in silence for even 3 minutes. Scary.

For me, I'm slowly overcoming my anxiety through using meditation to develop 'self' awareness, and then analysing that clearer appearance of self to see if the specific appearance of myself that constantly arises is actually real. That's helped me a lot because I can now see that I'm protecting a wrong perception of 'self', and in protecting such a wrong concept, it constantly makes me anxious. Now I've started to become more interested in others, and external things, without relating such experiences back to my wrong conception of who I am.

This is very interesting. I love these short videos where you get to the point. I'm not a Buddhist but your advice about fighting against anxiety it is the same with what we have in Eastern Orthodoxy. We also are taught that we should practice to have our attention always at the Jesus prayer. Of course, there is a difference. As in Buddhism you don't have a God, you educate your attention, your mind to be fixed on one thing. In Eastern Orthodoxy we focus our attention to the Person of Christ (the prayers in Christianity are directed to a Person). But the logic behind is the same. Thank you for this explanation!

i tried the 30 day challenge - meditate for 5-10 minutes every morning. by the third week it was clear that this form of meditation was more accessible than objective meditation I tried years ago. i now meditate in the morning before breakfast and many times throughout the day as well as just before going to bed- basically, whenever the opportunity arises. i had an experience/vision when expanding beyond my immediate surroundings during meditation. first, i was thinking about being the sky, with clouds floating through me. then i turned around (so to speak) 180 degrees to see what was there and observed the universe. the sense of who i am disappeared completely momentarily. i'm not sure what it means, if anything. but i thought it was worth mentioning. Rinpoche, thank you so much. anxiety and depression used to practically immobilize me. now, i have numerous opportunities throughout the day to reset via meditation.
