    First of all it was awesome to have found a struggling car enthusiast that needed help with his project car. For being a cheap make over it turned out pretty decent. However it could had turned out even better with a little more work in sanding down the hood, the fender and priming it. A good prep job will make the cheapest paint job look good. Then spray painting the wiper arms and wheels with black trim paint. Which by the way you should buy a case of black trim paint to keep in stock because it will be useful on all future cars you work on.

  • @manasdatta8037

    You beat me to it. I was also going to suggest that a single run with heavy cutting compound after the paintjob would also greatly improve the look of the hood. Wouldn't add much to the money already spent on this fantastic transformation.

  • @evoman44

    @evoman44

    8 ай бұрын

    @@manasdatta8037 Buffing it afterwards would had also greatly improved the finish. However I had noticed the paint on the hood had small cracks which will always show through unless it's sanded down to bare metal. But then it would had needed to be primed with epoxy primer. But it would had looked almost factory fresh.

  • @manasdatta8037

    @manasdatta8037

    8 ай бұрын

    @@evoman44 Agreed. Even if not down to bare metal, smoothening out the hood (for the sake of staying within budget and not spending a lot of time on it) would have improved it. I feel like that fender with the bubbling could be also improved with wet sanding and a cut n polish - again keeping in mind that you don't want to spend money on materials and things.

  • @evoman44

    @evoman44

    8 ай бұрын

    @@manasdatta8037 That's true. Even just a good sanding and a decent affordable rattle can primer would had made a big improvement.
