In todays VERY special episode we take one of my subscribers cars and transform it in just 3 days on a $700 budget!
If you can take 2 things from this video I hope it be
1. To spread kindness in the car community
And
2. You DO NOT need a ton of money to turn your car into something you're proud of and enjoy driving every day. With only a few hundred bucks you can have fun expressing yourself through the modifications on your car and have something that can create new friendships and experiences. IE; a few days after this was shot, Alex and a few buddies took their cars to a local car meet and Alex had a blast driving his newly transformed Civic to the meet, showing it off and just having a good time with his friends and their cars.

@@SmplBuilds Ain't nothing wrong with a budget build, we were all college students once with a part-time job with little money to work with. With a bit of research and practice, you can do a lot with little money to still make your ride decent. All you really need is a small amount of money but more importantly, enthusiasm and be willing to put in a lot of elbow grease :)

True, words
Top tip when painting wheels with tyres mounted: Get a couple packs of playing cards, and slot them vertically in the lip around the whole circumference of the wheel. Saves the long tape job and you can just use them again. You get a real nice clean line and good access to paint the lip still. Your life will change when you try this.

Looks very clean! Only things I would done differently: - clear coat the whole car. The paint will start to chip off and it'll suck. Also makes it shine a lot more - 2$ ebay rear wiper plug - type R or stock rear spoiler (personal opinion) But still, for that amount of money, very nice!

Why did you guys not use quality paint with paint gun air compressor would not have cost much more??
Honestly what I appreciate the most by watching this in a random order is to see how much more effort you went through each passing episode. There is always room to improve, and you seeing that and doing something about it is really respectable.
Would it ever be possible to do a follow-up style video with these cars? I’m interested in seeing how well that turbo paint holds up

Don’t let great be the enemy of good. The guy has a starting point. He can hit it with a clear later on, or he can wrap it or whatever. In the meantime, he got a free upgrade and can roll the way he wants for the meantime. Better than shoulda, coulda, woulda.

I love that you do so much outside. Because I think most of us who watch these build videos and have projects of our own will be working on our cars outside. For some reason I’ve always felt limited because I don’t have a garage or shop to work in, but now, you’ve made me realize that I can do everything I need to do outside, and it doesn’t matter.

Awesome video I like how it was so budget friendly. My only question is shouldn't you have clear coated the paint with a 2 part clear with hardener?
@chrisault2004
2 жыл бұрын
That spray paint isn't designed to be clear-coated over. If you were to do so it would it would likely delaminate. If he were to have have used the 2 stage (paint a clear) method (which, yes, is definitely better) it would have added a lot more time and cost to the build. In addition to that, the preferred method is harder if not almost impossible to do outside as he tends to work.
Once again a excellent work!
