Why won't the slice sequencer stop/play in sync with logic's transport controls? When I stop logic, slice continues to play. When I start logic playback, slice sequencer does not start. What gives?

I recommend using the Midi trigger functions or a traditional audio drag and drop flow. Think of Slice like an idea generator and your DAW the place where you craft it. Hope that helps!

It’s the concept of keyswitches or articulation switches common to a lot of Kontakt libraries. If you look at the piano roll on the Slice GUI, you can see the colored keys at the bottom of the GUI. Draw or record in the appropriate note value (G0, C2) and you should be solid when you playback that Midi performance.

Hey love the video. Just picked up this software, but when trying to import my own samples, the folder is listed but I cannot open the folder to view the files.???? And, not sure of how to delete the folder and try a different method. Any suggestions??

After you drag in the folder, you should see it. Click on the folder and everything should pop out accordingly. It looks a little strange at first but keep clicking around and you should find it. As far as deleting folders, I have no clue. If you find anything LMK. I just asked my contact over at Initial Audio. Thank you.

How to fit a third-party sample to the grid? my snare drum sounds at 2 and 4 beats of a measure, but this does not match the sample. The sample plays out of time.

It should line up perfectly...can you check to see if the LOOP/AUDIO FILE is a perfect integer...meaning 2 Bars 0 Beats 0 Divisions and 0 Ticks. It has to perfectly loop in your DAW. Plz confirm . Stay Up!!!

So how do you put individual drums/sample melodies in the Logic Pro X sequencer for mixing?? And how do you mute individual tracks within Slice? It's almost like Maschine (which I don't want to buy) but something is missing in your tutorial.

Hey there what’s going on. To mute the components on initial slice, go ahead and press the button next to the appropriate sequencer. In the case of slice sequencer, to the right of it, you will see a small audio icon. If you press that the sequencer should be muted. It totally is like Maschine just easier. I would have to create a video to show how to export everything onto Logic. I will put it on my queue. Thank you for the ideas. Stay up!

It takes a little bit to get used to. The beats and sounds are hard so it’s worth it but you definitely have to be into it. It’s all about workflow but I get it…took me a minute to get a grasp for sure. Stay ⬆️

If you are already moving then yea the question is “Will it make my productions or workflow sound better?” You sound solid. I def take the time to see if a tool is going to help me or just take up space 💯

Other than drum loops, can you use chromatic scales on that?

Hey what’s up @emeraldmoon. This is a pretty straightforward sampler. You won’t be able to play things chromatically there are essentially three modules. One for slicing up samples. The other two for drums and bass. As far as I can see, this one is meant for pure hip-hop, sequencing, not as versatile as other samplers per se, but beast for sure. This product is definitely not ready for production. I purchased it and used it for a week. There are still plenty of bugs. Lots of problems with interface. Great idea but it needs way much more polishing. At the present stage it is useless for me. It is really sad that people who make those presentations barely touch the surface of the software and make recommendations (just to make few bucks of commission). I rather recommend to wait until they come up with improved version and major bugs fixed.

Which DAW are you using? You might want to message support. Works perfectly fine with my system Logic 10.6.2 (Catalina). I did not get paid to make this video and do not get paid on any sales of this product. The purpose of the video was to educate creatives and introduce them to new beatmaking workflows. Stay Up!

@@_TheModernCreative Opinions vary. Personally I also noticed several bugs with Slice. Just moving a note on the grid was troublesome. 5 months later though, it seems improved.
