I actually think it would be a huge mistake of rangers sign him for £12M. He’s an average player who’s had a good run of scoring form. He’s not going to take them forward.

I’d be interested to know if Alan ever considered coaching rather than a management role? It seems like a lot of players would rather be managers when they would probably have a lot to offer as a coach.

I've got a theory about the fad of playing out from the back. I would bet in the not too distant future, a coach will come along like Jack Charlton or Graham Taylor with the long ball game again. They'll sign players built like brick shithouses and consistently beat the top 6. The long ball isn't pretty but when executed correctly, it is extremely hard to play against, especially for the higher class sides who can't "mix it up" physically.

Mad that we’re talking about finishing 6th, 7th or 8th being a success for a team who’ve spent a billion pounds in the last 2 years.

@@L.Drizzle To be fair I'm not even a Chelsea fan but I also find it quite irritating constantly hearing '1 bill spent'. 40% of that was wasted before the bought Bohley bought in his 'experts'. Since then all their singings have been u23's with really high potential. They're set in EVERY position. It's easy context yet people keep saying 'spent a bil' as if they're bringing in superstars in their prime. They're bringing in kids who will make mistakes and struggle with pressures. I'd love to laugh at Chelsea, but I'd feel stupid. I can see what they're building.

@@LiamsFriendStewie Stock piling players with high potential doesn’t mean it’s money well spent though. Too many players in the same age bracket means they can’t all get the playing time they need and therefore won’t all develop as they should. Young players need experienced players to learn from as well. And also, if Chelsea don’t get back into the CL in the next couple of years, some of these players are going to start looking for moves. Football is all about instant gratification these days and for the money they’ve spent, fans will want results sooner rather than later.

I think South Korea really did it! They intentionally conceded a last minute goal to avoid playing Japan. 😮

Alan is right. Playing out from the back has to be selective and especially passing to the central players should be avoided when their opponent is very close to him. (A la Declan RRice when CFC played Arsenal).

We will shock a few with the business we do come summer. Eze might be an option but we already have players at the club that are just as good so wont improve us. I believe we sign a goalkeeper, right sided centre half, right sided forward, centre forward and a no6. Believe miggy goes this window and an attack minded no8 comes in

Find it odd comments regarding FFP stopping teams compete with the elite. It's stopping clubs not losing 105 million. I don't see that as a bad thing. You can't spend money you don't have. A critical person might suggest that the issues with Newcastle being stopped effectively using the football manager cheat code to buy everything, isn't a bad thing. Love to get an expert in an discuss why it's okay to even loose that much money.

Surely the right way ro build is a blend of young and top players in a well balanced squad, but just loads of young players in in similar positions no real quality in others.

Spurs are going to be a dominant force over the next few years. Revenue, wages to revenue, recruitment, the manger. People are sleeping on them.

I think he meant Swansea and Birmingham weren’t competing at the top end of the league. Just that the top teams haven’t been taking that competition as seriously as the league and Europe...and F.A Cup.

People are way too nice with Chelsea. You can add a world class striker. Their defense is average. Silva is getting clearly old, and Disasi/Badishile it's just bang average. Their line of offensive mid, outside of Palmer, is very average, all similar and not players who play for the team. Their central midfield has potential but not delivering so far. It's just an average roster that on paper, I don't see top 6-7-8.

How Alan said Chelsea hasn't competed for titles in the last few years when Chelsea has made 18 finals since 2000 the most by any top 6 teams 🤣

I just don’t get this crying for Phillips rubbish. He went to City as a 6 when Rodri exists 😂 He was always playing maybe 5 prem games and the domestic cups, until Rodri left. The other Midfielders are Silva, KDB, Kovasic and Foden. It’s not like Pep isn’t choosing him out of spite, he just doesn’t start over any of them. Kovasic in the 6 in the only time you’d say play Phillips instead. There’s a reason Rice chose Arsenal over City. He knew he’d go there and start every single game.

Osimhen is the best of a pretty average bunch, as far as strikers go at the moment. He’s probably the best available guy at the moment, but he isn’t a £110m+ player. He’s only had a 20 goal season once, which is last year. Wether that’s down to him improving, or him being a one season wonder, only time will tell…

@@jonathanburn4388his goal ratio is pretty much exactly the same as Lukaku in Serie A, it’s 0.59. Playing for an ultra attacking Napoli, who had fantastic players around him. I’m not saying he’s bad, but you look at Harry Kane’s numbers at the same age and he was already getting 20-30+ a season regularly! His career numbers are roughly in line with Nunez’s. Slightly more goals, but slightly less assists…just not seeing a £110m+ player

Nah I agree with second guy commenting, Nunez, Jota even Gakpo can all play through the middle. Nunez is a similar type of stature, just Osimhen looks stronger. I don't think so, but yeah CDM and Cb definitely in the summer. Now Jurgen is going, FSG could change up a little bit aha. Not that they havent done ok transfer wise in recent years, but yeah see what happens aha. Before getting called out for "fake fan", or "not trusting the lads we've got"
