Victoria, Australia, likes to pretend that gender affirming care for youth is 100% consensus and best care. Our Royal Children's Hospital Gender Clinic is modelled off of Tavistock. It's been going for 5 years and on its website states puberty blockers are completely reversible. I'd love it if someone could blow the whistle on this.

Thank you for having this very important discussion about the social contagion sweeping the USA. It is now high fashion to have a trans child in the family. I wonder if the problem is caused in part by people’s desire to belong in the “correct group” of recognized progressive leaders. Up until the late 1960’s or early 1970’s there were very strict definitions of socially acceptable speech, dress, and decorum. To be “in the correct group” was easily recognized though difficult to conform to the yearly updates especially in fashionable dress. But for those people, especially women, who thought being “in” was paramount it was obvious to everyone when you were successful. Starting in the ‘70’s those widely recognized cultural goals gave been done away with leaving people with few ways of identifying themselves as avant-garde. Perhaps the gender fluid/ trans sexual phenomena is the latest attempt of those personalities who need to be “in” to satisfy that need. Just the perfect length skirt of the latest popular color topped with the newest hair style to give a person the feeling of belonging was much less damaging than puberty blockers and double mastectomy. Maybe we need to bring back strict “latest fashion” again to save the next generation.

Also in Finland the process to get a transgender diagnosis is quite lengthy. It takes approximately 1-2 years and you have to talk to multiple health care workers about your life, your past and your mental health. People don't get the diagnosis if they have mental health problems and are visibly unstable.

That hasn't changed in the U.S.! In some states women are required to have their partners SIGN OFF on the woman getting sterilized. There are Dr's who won't approve sterilization for a woman until she reaches a certain age, or have already had a certain number of children. So in 'Merca, a CHILD can demand, and be given, hormone blockers as well as cross sex hormones but ADULT women are unable to get a tubal ligation. It's mind-blowing to put it lightly.

That's messed up in the head for them to suggest this to anyone, especially children! Makes me wonder what kind of people they are that push this pretend; sick, twisted, fantasy lifestyle on KIDS? Then pronouns, calling straight men, women cis, they don't want Mother's or Fathers Day, calling biological women chest feeders. Because they have a chest, they want us to as well. They're delusional and jealous. Trans change their pronouns when the wind blows, and call us names for not knowing they switched. Restrooms; sports, school libraries, teachers, THIS ADMINISTRATION, MSM, social media. Whew! I'd rip my kids' phone away if they didn't stop that garbage, and get off social media. I remember an elderly man once told me that when he was young he cut all ties with his parents because they creeped him out and they pushed the whole responsibility of the household on him. I was shocked to hear that a child would find his parents creepy and that the man felt extremely insecure all his life and found it very difficult to make any decisions. I think that some of these parents probably creep their children out, discussing body stuff with their kids way beyond their age. It's a complete failure to love their children.

My daughter came home telling me about it and how uncomfortable it made her. She said " mom, I'm just a kid, I don't even know what I want to be when I grow up! Why are they asking me about sexuality things? I flipped a lid. Called the principle. The principle said I should have gotten an opt-out note to sign for the survey. I told him ok so you asked a 14year old who forgets to turn in homework to bring home a piece of paper for parents to sign to OPT out of a sexuality survey. That makes no sense and was obviously set up to make it so they would get more kids to participate. I also told him that we should have gotten a copy of that survey. So true. Not only gay boys, some straight boys too play with dolls and that does not necessarily make them trans or gay. Whether gay & straight, men who play with dolls in childhood oftentimes become ARTISTS, necessarily trans. Dolls are often used as studies for sketches. Dolls are sources of inspiration. They help spur on imagination for artworks, fictional novels, screenplays, etc. Boys who play with doll houses oftentimes grow to become interior designers, architects, furniture designers, etc -- not neccesarily transwomen. Boys who play with makeups sometimes iftentimes grow up to become FX makeup artists for theaters and film studios, cosmetic surgeons, . They are not necessarily trans. Boys love crossdressing in girls' dresses oftentimes grow up to become actors, fashion designers, character designers, fiction writers, screenwriters, etc -- not necessarily trans.

I went to my primary care physician and got diagnosed with having too much of my own, naturally made testosterone. My doctor pointed out having higher amounts of testosterone in your system can make you more insulin resistant and also, if left untreated, could lead you in the path of developing type 2 diabetes. So she prescribes me to take vitex fruit supplementation to help naturally lower it (so far, so good... just fyi). So... when my daughter gets lab from her doctor that shows "oh, she has the markers of developing insulin resistance" but since my daughter also expresses she hates being a girl... she gets a call from her endocrinologist to say "oh... so we should discuss testosterone!!" I asked "so - tell me... if my doctor informs me that me making too much of _my own_ testosterone is bad because it can lead a person into type 2 diabetes... what is the logic of giving a child who is potentially on the path of developing insulin resistance lab-made testosterone? How can you be on board to try to help her *not* develop type 2... while suggesting to give her something that can cause her to develop type 2? Are we fighting against it or for it? I'm seriously confused." That was the only thing that gave me a medical 'out' from being flagged for "not being on board" with hormone transitioning with my kid. I guess diabetes still trumps trans.

Their is a need in that person/child that NEEDS to be addressed and explored. If our dog barks and barks at something we go to the dog find out if the issue is a danger. If it's not a danger we reassure the dog to stop them barking. If they continue, then the issue is not resolved. Maybe we should explore the needs that seeking attention is showing us that a problem exists and it won't go away until the cause is resolved, not amputated.

Does it still matter or is it all water under the bridge now that she had a change of heart? It's great to see a fellow liberal place boundaries on her children, question the cultural paradigm that most liberals are afraid to question, etc. I admire her courage in being a whistleblower raising the alarm about the LIFETIME of harm being done to these children and in admitting to at one time agreeing with what she now sees as a cult-like ideology. I appreciate her insights into how trans ideology has taken control of the medical profession & our culture in general. Thank you for interviewing this guest & asking her tough questions. The U.S. is so far gone with this groupthink & fear of cancellation for daring to ask questions or think independently from the mob. I'm about to cut off ties with their family and explain that, no, Richard's not trans or even gay, just autistic/Asperger's - exactly like his autistic father, who chose an absorbing career instead of taking care of his family and getting his very lost and pained son the help he obviously needed all his life. @Caroline Hudson Transitioning still should be available to adults who can consent to their own treatment and do not need a work around to skid past something that should be a parent's decision until their child can make the decision on their own. I don't personally believe in banning sex change operations for adults, but I just don't understand why it's not considered a preventative care surgery instead of a cosmetic surgery. Because it's the latter, that's one of the main reasons why its scarily easy for people to undergo transition. You don't need to do preventative care, though it needs to be addressed as such. The mental harm that allowing children and everyone in between to transition is damaging the already damaged transgender community and its damaging people physically, mentally, and socially who are not and never were trans. I'm never going to say that transgender people don't exist or don't deserve rights or don't deserve to transition. However, I find it reprehensible to allow children, especially prepubescent children the opportunity to make a life changing decision that they don't fully understand, that their doctors prescribing these things most likely don't understand (or if they do they need their licenses revoked because of malpractice), and to go through extreme body torture at such a young age. And the rise in detransitioners is staggering, and every single detransitioner person I have heard has said the same thing: I wish transitioning drugs weren't the first option.

I really like the "machine/conveyor belt" analogy to explain all this madness. It's perfect. That's is exactly what it is and how this thing is working. But I've worked around machines and in factories with conveyor belts and such. And in every single one of them, there are at least one or two people who operate places along the conveyor who have the authority to STOP the machine completely. When there is an emergency, or problem of some kind, these people can push the button or flip the switch that stops everything. It makes perfect sense that medical Doctors would be just another cog in the machine; just another worker along the line of the conveyor belt. But if anyone in line along this conveyor belt should have the authority, and duty, to completely stop the machine when they see or suspect a problem, IT SHOULD BE THE DOCTOR! The fact that the Doctors are not stopping this madness is absolutely insane. The fact that the Doctors are allowing their hands to be tied in this manner, is absolutely IN-FUCKING-SANE! These doctors who are going along with this nonsense, regardless of their reasons for doing so, are an absolute DISGRACE. They should be the ones banding together and moving to put a stop to this bullshit. THEY HAVE A DUTY TO STOP THIS. And they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for giving up in to the woke mob, and allowing their own personal integrity, as well as the integrity of their profession, to be profaned in such a way. It's all just absolutely disgusting that this has been allowed to happen.

If they "just" identified as non-binary and avoided medical transitioning, it would be safer. They would have the opportunity to grow out of it. And if as adults they continue to reject presenting clearly as either gender, well, that's their business. Their bodies, fertility and sexual functioning would remain intact. Well, probably intact. Both chest-binding and tucking, which I assume are often engaged in by non-binary individuals, carry risks of permanent damage.

I’ve only ever shared this with an ex of mine, but this gender stuff is really triggering and has me questioning if this is some sort of intentional phenomena going on. When I was 14 or 15, I was depressed and lonely. I went online seeking a boyfriend, but every time I’d admit that I was a black female the guy would just stop talking to me. One day, I decided to adopt literally the opposite persona and see if I could get attention. I pretended to be a white teenage boy. I felt like a completely different person on my phone. I catfished a few different girls, but it honestly never felt like it was me. In real life, I was still a girl and seeking attention from any guy. It caused me to be really dysphoric- I didn’t think I was a lesbian but if anyone found out what I was doing, that’s what theyd assume. I grew out of it when I went to college, stopped the whole online persona thing but never deleted an app that I had used to message/catfish on. I started dating this guy and he was looking through my phone and found the app. I had no idea what to say to him other than the truth, and he was more understanding than I thought he’d be. He never went into detail why, but he said my story made sense and he went through something similar. I feel like a lot of kids feel dysphoric for many reasons, and now we are trying to medicalize it.

He said that after the students had done the initial reading, the professor asked for a show of hands "how many of tou think you might be autistic". Newrly half the class raised their hands. The professor explained that this was normal, but that once they got to interact more with autistic patients mist of them would see the difference between their personal feelings and someone with autism as a genuine medical condition. I feel like a lot of these transkids need that same speech. Most mental health conditions are just extremes of something all of us experience. But just because you can relate to someone with autism, or OCD, or gender dysphoria, doesn’t mean you actually have that condition and require the medical interventions they do.

I first started researching DID because of the voices in my head, and sometimes I feel like I become those voices. I don’t really know who exactly I am because I am constantly switching. But I don’t have huge memory gaps. I may forget the details of an experience or maybe completely forget what I was doing for a little while and play detective to figure it out, but I think it is just dissociation and a daydreaming problem. I will get lost in my own thoughts while I do stuff then not remember what exactly I did during that time. I think most people experience that sometimes (maybe not often, but I think for me it is a trauma coping mechanism). 😊

We got the same speech when I took abnormal psych in college - you will see a lot of yourself in these diagnoses. That's normal. That's actually the nature of most of these illnesses - they take what could be normal behavior and ramp it up to the point of causing distress to the person experiencing it. That's the difference between someone who is sad in this situation and someone who has depression, or someone who can be quite picky versus someone with OCD. The people who get diagnosed with the illness have problems that stop them from living their lives the way they want to live them, even if their behaviors on a smaller scale could be understandable or "normal". I feel like the current idea of being trans is similar - when I was a kid, I wore boys' clothes and hated my body, especially my breasts and hips. A few years later, I didn't feel that way any more. Sometimes these feelings are normal and will dissipate with time - sometimes they don't, and that's when as an adult you start looking at things like transitioning. But you show me a person that never hated puberty, never felt like their body was alien, never wondered if some small behavior made them "not a boy" or "not a girl". I'll wait.

There are young kids on the autism scale who experience distress at bodily changes, and this would include people whose bipolar disorder prevents them from being anything other than dramatic in their understanding of phenomena. And there is that group of teenage, emotionally vulnerable girls who fall into social contagion, and in the past they exhibited cutting or eating disorders or possession by spirits or by witches. Historically, male to female transexuals and their "supporters" were notably anti-gay, by the way. I worked for decades as a PhD clinical psychologist and did ex therapy at UCLA (& am gay). There's certainly something about the autistic brain that makes it very easy to rationalize things.. the best i've been able to come up with is that autistics are hyper logical, somewhat asocial (take their own rationality weighted more strongly than social feedback loops,) and can absorb more new information than non-autistics. However, they're not very good at heirarchically rating first principles... so they latch onto things for emotional reasons and backfill in the rationality. Of course, when they latch onto an idea they get a good degree of expertise really fast because they absorb 50% more information, and can work on problems for longer, sometimes years. This makes it very hard to dislodge their ideas once they've got supporting evidence. If you try to shame them, they'll just call you stupid. It doesn't compute. This is why autistic people can spend years studying really unproductive things. As an example, when I was 2 I taught myself how to read by reading the names of pokemon. When I was 8, I knew everything about the 300+ pokemon that existed. Like, every single stat bonus, name of a move, type weakness, strength, everything. Somewhat weird for an 8 year old, but by comparison, I knew a guy who lived at home at age 25 also with an encyclopedic knowledge of pokemon. Gathering irrelevant facts because he never made the calculation that the category of those facts was irrelevant or even harmful. It doesn't seem like that much of a stretch to see that a teen autistic girl with some body dysmorphia might latch onto gender information and just take it to its logical conclusion. Those people do not need to be affirmed. They need to be protected from themselves until they get out of that phase.

It also requires government agencies to report to Congress about the estimated number of females who are at risk of or have had FGM, and on efforts to prevent FGM." 40 states have laws against FGM, 10 do not. (Which is probably what you are thinking of.) But the absence of such laws in a given state in no way supercedes federal law. Only if the federal law was rescinded would FGM be legal in such states. Also, per a U.S. Department of Justice news site, the U.S. Department of Justice recognized International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation on February 10, 2021. It is of course possible the practice continues it surrreptitiously, but offenders would face serious punishment. *It is unclear to me, after consulting multiple sites, whether U.S. federal law permits FGM on adults (females over 18). It is clear that it is illegal on minors.
