Detrans Awareness Day Panel Discussion With Detransitioners For 'No Way Back 'Documentary

Watch the first ever Q&A panel discussion with 7 detransitioners filmed on De-trans Awareness Day 2023. 7 Detransitioners speak publicly and answer questions from the audience at a film screening of the documentary No Way Back: The Realities of Gender Affirming Care.
WATCH THE FILM HERE: nowaybackfilm.com
The panel discusses the medical ethics of the gender affirmation model of care for gender dysphoria, and the untold harm personally endured by notable detransitioners Chloe Cole, Laura Becker, Luka Hein, Brian Wagner, Estella Suarez-Hamilton, and Shapeshifter.
The panel answers questions from concerned parents about the relationship between gender distress, social contagion, trauma, and familial relationships, and panelists give advice about maintaining and repairing relationships with children and loved ones who are experiencing identity issues.

    They weren’t forced, but manipulated into thinking their child would commit suicide if not allowed to change genders. That’s pretty evil, especially since the high suicide rates consist of transitioned transgenders who suddenly realize they were sold an empty promise, that they feel the same or worse from before they started transitioning, and they despair when they realize there is no hope for returning to their natural state - that their bodies have been permanently damaged. :(

    @@sharkboy6952 true, maybe “promote” is too strong of a word. I’m just thinking that trans activists won’t listen to the other side unless we “cater” to them by using ideas they may more readily accept. Making masculine women and feminine males more widely accepted/acknowledged is the main point. Women/men fall on a spectrum from hypermasculine to hypomasculine (and vice versa for women) and that’s okay. To be honest, I don’t actually have much hope that trans activists will listen to ANYONE but themselves anyway. They are unlikely to consider different perspectives or ways of addressing gender identity issues. Schools, the government or state institutions generally shouldn’t be involved with gender ideology to begin with. They are paid through taxpayers and hence need to stay unbiased and neutral. Of course, schools/universities can mention that gender dysphoria exists - the problem right now is the value judgements attached to their teaching. It’s extremely disturbing that so many of our institutions are failing us in this regard. Their job is to impart knowledge, not infuse it with their own bias or use schools/universities as vehicles for activism! Apparently they don’t understand what their actual job/purpose is! Discussing topics like transgenderism at any depth should exclusively be “the job” of the family, social support systems (friends/relatives) and (non-activist) mental health professionals.

Dad had headaches and tender nipples. This is powerful stuff. They were in their early 70s. I worry for these folks- what on earth will this drug regimen do ten years down the road? I pushed back on my own daughter. I knew on a soul level that she was not transgender. I found out she was even thinking in this way because she was groomed by her SCHOOL Counselor. He had been pulling her from class for months every week. He was telling her NOT to talk to us, Not to be her new identity at home only at school and to keep us fully in the dark. It came to a head when he handed her scissors and told her “once it’s gone they can’t do anything about it” and she cut off all her beautiful long hair. I was so heartbroken. Complete heartbroken, scared, and so pissed off at the school. HOW CAN THEY DO THIS? What right do they have to diagnose a kid with gender issues who has never shown gender issues. Luckily the lockdowns happened a week later. It took me 6 months to deprogram her, and another 6 to help her be comfortable in her own skin. I told her to tell others if asked “why aren’t you trans anymore” that She is just figuring it all out like everyone else.. there still is lingering issues but I can say she is a perfectly comfortable Female who is probably gay. We can deal with it as parents but we are the ones to do that. Not affirming doctors or affirming therapists who I think mean well but are causing so much HARM with rushed interventions. Let’s allow the brain to develop. Let’s not sterilize a entire GENERATION. We have to push back in love to save our children. It’s better to hurt them now and save them from a lifetime of suffering.

I swear it may feel “real” but it’s not about gender.. it’s a complexity of other things and had she been born even 10ths earlier it never would have entered her mind. The biggest reasons why they rush them they is they will lose them as a patient and all that lifelong $$$ that follows that patient. They know the 95% out grow rate is huge, the other problem is the kids, they feel like they are trapped, like they already told “everyone” that this is who they are, what they want, etc and don’t want to look like a liar. Grandma needs to cancel all follow up appointments with the doctors and not take her anymore. Pray. Pray that once more maturity and self acceptance happens she may not want this anymore. She deserves real intimacy, real future options, possibility of Family and none of those will happen with transitioning. Sterilizing half a generation of kids is sick.

    My daughter came to me telling me she was transgender (12 years). I told her not to be so quick to label herself, and that she can like what she likes without attaching labels. I’m not trying to dismiss those with genuine issues, but I feel like this has snowballed into a cultish following. Again, not dismissing anyone. Someone will find offense in this I’m sure, but the main point of what I’m saying is just to teach the younger generations to love unconditionally, that emotions are very fleeting and therefore should never be used to make choices that may have a large scale impact on their lives.

These people needed help with their pain and confusion, not surgeries, pills, and affirmation that they are "broken" in some way. All of them were born perfect exactly as God made them.

Born and raised a Jehovah's witness, left in my twenties after researching and finding it was all lies and have been shunned by my entire family ever since. They have not spoken to me in over six years. Got into new age practices and drifted far from God and finally found Jesus in 2022. It was a LONG hard search finding Him. And now you can change your gender. But you can't run away from you. It's critical in life to come to terms with, and be content, with who you are. Not ones who say nasty things back. Teach yor child to fight. Never put hands on someone, but if they out hands on yor child, they must fight back and finish the fight. Fight dirty. No hair pulling. I was taught both. I finished a multi girl fight, bc I fought like a guy. This must be taught. Bc teachers wont do anything. And every kid feels awkward and questioning. Its normal. @verasanina4977 For instance, I don't know any kid that hated school as much as I did when I was 5-8 years old. I would cry for no reason in the morning. Sometimes I would hide under the bed, I would feign sick, even when I was injured at school. There was just nothing I didn't do to avoid school. Much as I was the youngest in my family loved and protected and provided for totally, there was just no excuse to avoid school. At some point I thought my parents are the most wicked for not letting me choose when not to go to school. As a kid I didn't know better. But in the end I came to like school, infact after my Bachelors degree and MBA, I remember thanking my father for insisting I went to school. This was before he passed away. Meanwhile as that 7 year old I was only trying to do what other kids did. Not come to school at will because their parents will allow them. I remember my father saying to all my senior siblings I'm not here to be your friend or make you like me. I am here to protect you even against yourself. You must go to school. It's not so for many families, children walk into fire because parents are weak. Discipline is not negotiable. And it must be from very young age. If parents don't know the way how will they show their kids the way?

What you're clearly trying (and failing) to say, is that "it's not those who STAY transitioned that are brave," because those who "realize they made a mistake BY TRANSITIONING," obviously DO transition, which, according to your first statement, would make them NOT the brave ones.

    If you have seen enough of these stories told you would understand that a lot of times the reason that the LGBT community is not accepting of these people is because a violent backlash from the detransitioned people themselves. The entire lgbtq Community is not the person that harm them or who convinced them to do anything they many times have made these decisions as an adult. Yet a lot of them feel a lot of anger toward the LGBT community because they felt that they are somehow tricked into making their decisions. Nobody wants to trick anyone into transitioning. That concept is foreign 2 every lgbtq person on the planet. What would the motivation for that even be?

    Again kindness to all….as I believe in Jesus, I can see Him being very supportive of any human being who has come through life changing issues…just like the people shunned in His day, he went and ate with them…he was showing love…he also could heal …which I do believe He still does and forgives …and that’s why I love him…he forgave me of things I did, and helped me to,forgive myself.

    There are so many variables that can contribute to gender dysphoria e.g. sexual abuse and rejection from a parent. It’s crazy to me that the therapists do not dig deeper for the cause of it.

  • @nate2759

    @nate2759

    Жыл бұрын

    @@TransSisterRadio1488 No, I’m not saying that at all. I’m saying that there are many factors that contribute to one experiencing “gender dysphoria”. I already provided some of the examples from above. Therapists should address all areas of trauma from the patient as gender dysphoria is mostly likely being caused from one or multiple traumatic events. I will provide an example, of a man who had transitioned as a women for many years, I cannot remember his name but, he thought he was a women as he was raped by another boy as a child and thought because of that he “must be a girl”. Further, his grandma dressed him up in girls clothing and only gave him attention when he dressed and behaved like a girl. These traumatic events caused gender dysphoria from childhood into adulthood because those events were not addressed until much later in life and by that time the physical and psychological damage from the drugs and surgeries was already done. Therapists ought to be finding out the cause of gender dysphoria and treat that before assuming one with gender dysphoria is transgender which in most times is not the case.
