I like that line cause it adds more realism. In a lot of Thomas adaptations and stories, the drivers care about their engines so much they wouldn’t trade it for the world🥹🥺. But this line right here….shows that just because the engines are sentient in this universe, the workers still see it as just a job and nothing more really

He's got such an explosive temper and he's so insecure, I absolutely love your shouty, angry, thick-headed James. You've totally captured him. So sympathetic too, nice to see him finally prove himself. Your voice acting is brilliant; I've never heard Edward done the way you do him, he genuinely sounds old and speaks so deliberately, the subtle smacking of lips and "hmmm"s add so much. He feels alive, so utterly authentic. It's a new take but feels like the real Edward, the one the books were written about. I'm really loving these, Thomas has deserved an adaptation this immersive for a long time.

Great character development between him and Edward. I like the moment after TFC scolds him at the sheds where Gordon tries to joke but Edward stops him. I feel like if this happened at the beginning of the series, Gordon and Henry would have mercilessly teased James when he was down, but maybe now they empathize a bit more after the tunnel incident etc. Fantastic work as always!

Also very clever at mashing all three stories into one episode very clever, it kept the movie at a fast pace and that’s my only criticism. it was a little to fast for my liking and I was hoping for that brief conversation with thomas when they met up at the junction would have nice, but other minor detail this was so tasteful. Keep up the great work, I hope you do this again with thomas and the guard and thomas goes fishing.

Being insecure myself, I can imagine James tells himself such negative thoughts already but hearing someone else say, *it hurts a hell of lot more.* Tho, I would never have the thought of trying to hurt that such someone I can fully understand James’ outburst here.

Your videos just keep getting better and better! I like James’s story a lot, my favorite parts have to be the explanation as to why there was a hole in the coaches and that James had been bumping them too hard after making a comment on how Gordon was better than James which I know they should’ve said but James did bump them awake earlier as well as few other times so I can understand why they said that as well as James who shouldn’t have done what he did but he was excited to pull a passenger train so I can’t really blame him, it’s sort of like Thomas’s situation when he was excited to pull a train on the mainline and that got him into trouble. I love the Jeremiah bit and James beating the trucks in the second attempt. Overall this definitely has to be my favorite so far, this has to be my favorite adaptation of James’s story that easily tops the RWS and TVS adaptations by a long shot. it feels like every time I say this is my favorite the next video comes and it better than the last one, kinda shows how good this series is

Wow, that came out fast! Once again, amazing episode and video! Like always, the editing and voice acting is top tier, and although this one was a little fast-paced (no interaction with Thomas at the junction 😭) I liked how you tied James’s fiasco with the bootlace with him pulling the coaches with Edward, and pretty interesting to see how this wasn’t the first time James has ever pulled passenger trains, although it was kinda dumb for him to do the same mistake as when Henry had to help with him, lol (hope we can learn more about how it happened in a future episode). But I liked to see that Henry and Gordon are a bit softer now, while Gordon is still disapproving of tender engines shunting coaches (him indirectly calling Edward improper 💀) and Henry still teases James, it’s good to see that Henry has been acceptive and supportive of Thomas leaving and even Gordon trying to lighten up the mood after the “bootlace incident”, despite Edward having to “shush” him out. And James’s struggle pulling the trucks was honestly heartwarming, specially with Edward cheering him on and the Fat Controller being sure he would do it; and James’s determination right there and winning against the “most troublesome trucks on the line” really showed how much he grew from the events of him damaging the coaches, despite it being shortly prior to this; all of that is pretty beautiful, and TFC’s and Edward’s praises of him at the end and him being able to keep his red paint feels even more wholesome now. So far, I might even say that your take on James is my favourite out of the five main engines and TFC (mad respect for you making him even more fair than in the original series and not shutting James at the sheds), but all of them are spectacular indeed, and you really blended well their original portrayals and your own view on them. And once again, props for all your effort and great work, take your time as much as you need, and I hope to see more of this series as always 😁

The way this is written is beautiful! It ties perfectly into who James is as a character, someone who while eager to please Topham and generally well-meaning, is deeply insecure and has a huge ego that often gets him to equally huge trouble, and makes it difficult for lessons to stick in his mind. And we see that play out amazing well with how his insecurities distract him from paying attention to his work and his threatened ego making his issues with the coaches even worse. And now it’s gotten him into a situation where he’s actually starting to lose that optimistic hope and his self confidence is slipping. It’s also here that Edward truly shines arguably more then he ever did in either source material, as he needs to guide James a bit more directly than with Thomas, but also helps to boost his self-confidence when he’s at his lowest. The moments where Edward and Topham witness James on the hill only helps to show much their words have actually stuck with him, and how James, while stubborn, also never gives up, which makes him capable of great things!

Yoooo I think I got the name right! I can't exactly remember but I think I said something like this. I find that even though James is everybody's favorite character, and heck he's one of my favorite characters, he's a tad bit underrated, and this episode fleshes out a very amusing depiction of James

    * I love the characters of James and Edward in this, they feel much more real and fleshed out! * My only criticism would be that the Troublesome Trucks section felt a little rushed, we were just thrown straight into it with no build-up. * Otherwise, this was really good!! Great job!!

A 2 in one? *N i c e .* I think that putting the two together is better than having both episodes separate, as it shows that James really is a triumphant engine. Fits the title (I think the next one should be simply titled "James") The edits of Edward's faces are phenomenal as usual. Also, this is the first one you've done that doesn't feature all of engines 1 through 5. Good job. 👍

I find it nice and refreshing to see Gordon attempt to cheer up James instead of putting him down. Honestly, I was expecting both him and Henry to tease him for his mishap like they would do in the TV series. Here they don't and it feels natural.

Can you imagine a series of gauge 1 episodes using the format and the audio of the trampy movies? That would be the Thomas episodes I'd show my children, these add so much more too the stories that I would of died for as a child. You've written this so well I bet the Rev W would be impressed.
