I am Clinically Addicted to Spooky Thomas Stories someone please help

Ойын-сауық

Guys this isn't made for kids this is made for adults who have nostalgia for the show please youtube don't take away my comments please please please I'm definitely not trying to game the system by saying the fuck word in the description despite it not appearing in the video, or hey maybe I can say fuck in the first 2 seconds of the video oh wait that's bad for monetization shit uh uh well this is high quality bootleg is still made for adults because I want adults to see it so don't take away my ability to receive praise in the form of youtube comments please-
I MEAN, Ghost Stories! Ya gotta love 'em, ya just gotta- like seriously, you HAVE to love them.
Scary stories in Thomas and Friends have a special place in my heart, as they're able to give the perfect atmosphere for a scary story, without making me void by bowels uncontrollablymost of the time. And so today, I thought it would be fun to go through a bunch of them, and give them the old one-two. For this episode, we'll be looking at Ghost Train, Stepney Gets Lost, Scaredy Engines, Halloween, Ghosts (Tugs), The Night Express to Vicarstown, Revenge of the Ghost Train, Engine 17, Silent as the Grave, A Part of Me Stayed Behind, The Half Engine, and All Eyes on Dennis.
This is easily the biggest 'Who Did It Better' video I've ever made, and gosh dang it, I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it!

    I'm really curious how the idea of that depiction of Marklin came to be. Did somebody just slapped an eyeball on him and they or someone else was like "That's it!" and so the story eventually came to be?

    @@carson08022000 I...must admit I didn't watch the video as I hate jumpscares and I'm pretty sure they're in that one. Sorry, but jumpscares literally ruin horror for me - the recent Emesis Blue has my praise as it's a full-length horror film with *ZERO* jumpscares. It's proof that quality horror can still exist without that done-to-death trope. Sorry for that rant, but I just wanted to get that out of my system.

    "Duncan gets spooked" is definitely a favorite of mine when it comes to scary Thomas episodes. Actually seeing a flashback about the origins of the ghost story and seeing an actual engine fall to his death is certainly something that stuck in my mind when I watched it as a kid. And after seeing the deleted scenes of the ghost engine in that episode being released and other content creators editing them into the episode, it definitely adds to the spooky atmosphere of the story.

    As a kid, the visual of Emily under the tarp always gave me chills. Halloween is one of the best episodes to come out of the Hit Era. The music, the setting, the storytelling, and of course, the chase are what make it so good. The ghost engine who appears at the beginning used to send shivers down my spine as a kid. But the ending always made me smile. And, believe me when I say that I hated ghosts as a kid. I will admit that the resolve happened too soon, but I liked the choice of Arry and Bert as antagonists. Even if their characterisation in later seasons after Stepney Gets Lost was... weird, to say the least.

    One thing I love about All Eyes on Dennis is that is it's goal as a story works very well similar to Scaredy Engines, it's a Halloween story that is both a Spooky Story in the CVW lineup, and also serves as a redemption story for Dennis. Much like how Scaredy Engines is both a Duck & Percy story, as well as a Thomas and Percy Rivalry story. Also, about 6 months ago or so, I showed AEOD to one of my classmates who was a bit familiar with Thomas. And they knew of the Hit Era newbies but not much else after that era. So I showed them this and they really enjoyed it.

    Fun fact about Ghosts - the face of Neptune was deliberately left as an open plot thread, it was confirmed long ago to've been planned to return in a future episode had the series been continued. The original outline for that scene was also wayyyy more intense, and likely would've been completely impossible to film with what they had lol. An except from the first draft: "In the distance heading out to sea are the Ghost Tugs. Without thinking the small Switchers head after them. Even with their engines running at full speed they cannot make fast enough headway in the rising sea to catch them. Suddenly a thick seafog enshroudes them and the waves rise menacingly. If they try to turn back they would be side on ot the waves and would roll over. Rising out of the sea comes a huge Trident trapping the Switchers between its forks. Lifting them clear of the water it turns them around then lowers them back into the sea. Confused and scared, Ten Cents and Sunshine battle the waves back towards the bars. But the fog is very thick and obscures the shore lights. Even Lillie Lightship cannot be seen, and her fog horn is drowned out by the sea rushing over the bars. Suddenly through the fog two bright lights may be seen. Assuming them to be the shore lights they head between them. As they come off the bars into the quiet waters of the Bay, the fog swirls and clears for a second. To their horror just ahead of them is the giant face of Neptune, his eyes glowing brightly. Before they can react the fog obliterates the scene."

  • @AmirPrinceling

    @AmirPrinceling

    Wow I never heard that before. While I'm glad the scene didn't go that far (as it does sound a tad silly), that still is so interesting that Neptune was meant to be more than a one-off.

    1:05:30 even with me being in Watching Documentary mode listening and taking notes for me own stories, the Smoke box door swinging around and the one eyeball looking around make me go "OH HELL NO" ;p . Side note I find something rather interesting about the Phantom that acts evil but is just teaching a lesson / be a Warning far more appealing then an actually malicious ghost that gets defeated, it opens the door for other Characters to also learn the lesson and in new different ways.

  • @PlayDontPause

    @PlayDontPause

    Everybody gangster until the smokebox door opens lol. Also, yeah. I like that the ghost isn't evil, just...big angry and trying to teach a lesson. It's a very easy trap to fall into with ghost characters where they become too powerful for the engines to 'fight' them, so there's no real reason for them to stop doing spooky things.

    Although I don’t mind, the fat controller appearing out of nowhere to save Stepney (since it continues, the theme that the fat controller will go out of his way to save engines, and as a controller, it makes sense that he would be inspecting yards every now and again) I think it would’ve been better if it was his driver and fireman who saved Stepney. After all, it would make sense that they would return to find their engine gone and quickly try to save him. They could’ve rushed to the workmen and explain that Stepney is privately owned an unless they want the Northwestern/Bluebell Railway (whoever owns him) to try them with destruction of property they better not scrap him.

    I assume Ghosts' ending was played the way it was mainly for ambiguity. That way the viewer could decide themselves how much, if anything the tugs saw was real. Especially with how Hercules gives reasonable explanations for everything except the clearly strange things. They *could* have been hallucinating and we just saw what they did, but at the same time, can we be sure? Hercules can't know everything, after all.

    It's kind of a shame you didn't feature MasterOfTheLemon's 'Token' audio story. I get it'd have been impractical for you to discuss an audio play for the reasons you went over. And that whole story is an hour and a half long - enough content for you to need to make a seperate video on without it being jarring. But I'd really hope you could get around to covering that story on your channel sometime. I'm not sure if you've given it a listen yet; but I'd really, really recommend it. It was a story so immersing for me, and with such gravitas it honestly felt like it didn't belong in something like Thomas. Definitely deserves to get a shout-out whenever possible.

    Oh, that one. That one is GOOOOD. (Spoilers btw) The plot of that is stellar, minus the whole "and he will come to take you to your death". Like, why? When did he sign a deal with the god of Death to ferry his targets to... wherever it is he takes them? It's not clear. But the beginning story, oh *MAN* . I could listen to that until my death. And the "dialogue" between the ghost and (I think his name was) Steven was just right. I was half sure the ghost was actually going to drag him away, but was convinced not to by the choice of words Steven used. All in all, a really good tale. Shame the series ended the episode right after that one.

The jumpscare is the only one i like of these stories. I usually dont like jump scares, but this one felt properly built up. I liek stories with just a creepy atmosphere and other creeping horror. Another good recommendation is the spooky episodes of the stories of sodor by victor tanzig, ghost, spector and fog come to mind. I still find it absolutely hilarious that Thomas and Toby are basically the same age, but Toby is always portrayed as old, while Thomas keeps being shown as younger and younger with each era. They were built within about one year of each other. And, if I remember correctly, Thomas is actually the older of the two! Also, depending on you do the math on it, Percy might actually be the oldest of the three. We don't have a solid build date for him, but if we assume that he was repaired with mixed parts and not Frankensteined together, and assume the oldest reasonable build date for his frames, he'd actually be older than Edward! His closest IRL basis is a locomotive named Trojan, who was built in 1897, only 1 year after Edward, and Avonside started building a lot of small saddle tanks in the 1880s, though they built them up until the 1930s. Avonside made a heck of a lot of 0-4-0s, over a very long period of time, and it'd take a long time for Percy to get rebuilt enough times to become as much of a hodge podge as he is, so all we really know for sure is that he has to be fairly old, so he can't be that much younger than the other two. At the latest, he could have been built in the 1930s, making him 15-20 years younger than Thomas and Toby. Looking it up, Thomas's build date isn't given, but would have to be no earlier than 1913, when the first of his class were built, and no later than 1915, the year he arrived on Sodor. Toby has a canonical build year of 1914. So, when he arrived in 1949, Percy could have been anywhere from half their canonical ages to twice their canonical ages. Personally, my headcanon is that Percy is super old, and is an 1880s build, but just cheekily responds to any questions about his age with something like "older than my pistons, but a few weeks younger than my frames" instead of actually giving anyone a straight answer. I'd love to see a fan story where Trojan visits Sodor, and Percy introduces him as his younger brother. And then they read 1897 on trojan's builder's plate on the back of his cab when he leaves, and they start doing the math...

    Plot twist: Percy's actually older than Thomas and the others, but pretends to not know what he's doing because it's more interesting that way.

    Exactly. He's wise enough to know that being the wise old authority figure is boring. Everyone expects Toby and Edward to take things seriously and be in charge, but nobody's gonna dump extra responsibilities on silly little Percy, and that's exactly the way he likes it. Growing up is a scam.@@PlayDontPause

    Personally I'm a fan of two different stories. On the official side of stories, Duncan Gets Spooked has to be one of the most ominous stories ever told, as it neither confirms nor denies the story Rusty told Duncan about an engine that fell off a bridge and was lost forever is true or not. Heck, there's not even a mention as to whether or not the driver operating said engine even survived at all. Stories like that that are left to viewers interpretation are what I enjoy sometimes, as it really makes you wonder what happened that fateful night. For fan stories, the one that sticks out the most to me is The Wandering Coach. An old coach that takes revenge on a tender engine that destroyed it, forever making him run around the night on Sodor's lines without any rest or end in sight. Honestly, it gives me the chills that even something as innocent as a coach can turn into a spiteful entity that will not only punish you for what you did to it in life, but also never let you go free at all. I always like to think that it should be a follow-up episode for the episode where Sir Handle calls some coaches "cattle cars" and gets derailed later on. Alll in all, The Wandering Coach is a brilliant fan story full of dark and mystery and I love it.
