Great footage. 5;12 my favourite, in that exact livery!

This brought some great memories back. The immaculately polished platform benches adorned ‘Nuneaton Trent valley. The electrics sailing through near top speed. The hop across the mainline the trains to New Street took before the overbridge came back into use with the flyover. The resumption of a service to Coventry one car sprinter? And the service from Leicester being a class 31 hauled affair which was a real treat, but sitting behind the drivers cab to get a drivers eye view when on the dmu stock of the curtain wasn’t down... great days, thanks for bringing all that back. Nuneaton was my nearest spot to go see the electrics at work.

Thank you, and glad it brought back so many good memories. Rugby was closer for me, but Nuneaton had more variety - and then of course there was the weekend drags sometimes!

Ah, Nuneaton how I remember it from living there in the mid 60s. And some 'proper' loco-hauled trains. I remember standing on the bridge at the south end watching trains for ages.

There was a time when Inter City 125 High Speed Trains released from East Coast Main Line duties following the introduction of Class 91 locomotives, British Rail Mark 4 coaches and Driving Trailers operated between Euston and Holyhead.

119s still appeared here at this time on the Coventry trips.

Still a few heritage/first generation DMUs around in this era, always good for a front seat cab view!
