    Only discovered your channel this week mate, and I think I’ve watched most of your content already! 😂 I really love the insight and access to the railways. Keep up the good work! 👍

    Brian why do the 350s and the 444s make that funny noise when they start off .

    Didn't know that TESCO used freight trains to transport goods! I wonder what could be in those containers - surely not groceries to go on the shelves of supermarkets?!

    They go to the main distribution centres and yes they are groceries

    Thanks for explaining why they run in pairs, maybe DRS should try it with their 88s

    Great insight into the double heading of the 90 's. Now I can run them double headed up my helix and when anyone asks is it because the helix is to steep (which it isn't by the way). I'll just say Brian the train driver said that's the way it is in real life. 😅 cheers Euan

    In Woodhead days, similar situation with Classes 76 and 77. Double headed 76 Bo-Bo's, single headed 77 Co-Co's, except the 77s didn't have enough adhesive weight for the hills there but eventually did great work in the Netherlands.

    Something i have wondered for a long time, when intermodal trains are being loaded what is the reason for the random gaps? I appreciate that there is spaces that haven't been sold and on 60ft wagons will have a 40ft container and there isn't any 20ft containers to be moved, it seems random that there is loads of empty wagons then maybe a single box empty wagons and then a few boxes together. Thanks in advance

    The dark arts that yard planners do. It can be anything from train weight to brake force or even juts how the yard is loaded in terms of cranes etc or how they are to be unloaded at the destination

    Was there a rumour that Class 90's were being stood down because of the cost of the Electricity and 66's would be the norm ??

    It happened for a while but network rail agreed a pricing structure that was fairer to freight companies

    Would you get a warning in the cab if the second 90 broke down?

    Re double headed 90s. Is it correct that one traction motor per loco has to be isolated due to overhead line supply limitations?

  • @Traindriverbrian1

    @Traindriverbrian1

    9 ай бұрын

    I could be wrong but no it doesn’t there’s a switch on the cabinet that reduces each motor by 250hp making a double headed 90 only 8000hp as against 10,000hp They aren’t isolated as I would see that on the desk
