I do love a grid - have heard that leaving Ferryhill on the ECML when I've been waiting a few miles up at Hett Mill 🙂

Have Freightliner got a contract to haul Maersk containers as their intermodal trains that i see on KZread and in real life, often have a lot of Maersk container on the trains?

Have you driven a 66/6? I know they are normally on heavy haul out of Derbyshire and Wiltshire quarries just wondered if any have done intermodal even though they are limited to 65mph.

Great to see Basford Hall busy, is there ever a time you'd double head 66s on a train Brian

How do you re-fuel all the Loco's and is it a big job and how often does it happen?. Sorry if it's a stupid question.

I’ll try and show you next time I’m on the shed but basically it takes around 15 minutes per loco and they are done on average daily

I think you should get a go pro so we can get a view from behind a window of you driving and talking then muting out the bits that are for you only i think if you then upload them you can get a lot of views from it.

Are there many class 56s left as many of them have been converted into class 69s do you still use the class 08 shunters as you don't see many about in freight depots

the 57s are converted 47s. 56s converted to 69, Looks like GBRf has bought up most of the remaining 56s to convert, otherwise colas is the biggest operator of pure 56s

Why Is there no FL trains into East Midlands gateway ? Used to be 4m86-

  • @Traindriverbrian1

It wasn’t viable. Used to be a contract train for maersk until a couple of years back. GBRF took the contract and it meant the train didn’t make enough money to justify the length it had to sit at EM Gateway and the routing required in fuel and staffing costs

@@Traindriverbrian1 it sat at EMG several hours before departing on 4L10 via half the country. I thought Lawley Street drivers worked 4m86 into emg

70007 cute .. not the loco .. but that she is yours and the relationship you have with her.. my loco of choice is Malcolm 90024 .. not that I am ever likely to drive him but he was the loco I had to see and made me fall back in love with the hobby .. I am really disappointed that they're no longer in service with DB - I had adopted the Class with them - they all have names Malcolm, Donald, Bill, Jack, Christine and Co.. 😊 the 90s aren't going forward with DB but they are on my modelling project ..
