Good to see you out and about Brian. I think all big corporate firms are getting nervous about social media; I thought your videos were very informative and you took a very professional approach with safety foremost.

Great channel Brian. You love your job and the railway just like I did when working for British Rail but I didn't like privatisation so took early retirement.

Hi Brian. Really enjoying your videos and was nice to see you spend some time here in the North east. I'll keep watching and hope you and your work can sort something out. I for one understand only to well about the safety critical work and restrictions with it. Keep up the good work.

Really appreciate the update, as an avid model railway fan and all things railway, I've learned so much from your incredibly informative videos and, to be fair, they were great publicity for Freightliner. All the best!

Thanks for the great video.. lovely location. Thank you also for the update about your situation. It’s a shame social media is a magnet for the odd moronic comments.(thankfully they’re the minority) All the best with your future endeavours.

Unfortunate about the Network Rail situation. It's a shame that a few people doing things improperly can ruin it for the people doing it all by the books.

In the past month I've done 800 miles back and forth between Lancaster and Norwich. It seems to me that EMR have neglected the 158's, I'm a bit sad that they're going out on a whimper and unloved. I've just had an email that more 170's will be taking over Norwich - Liverpool now. Though it seems they won't have much longer in service than the 158's. I don't know if it would suit that route to split the service. They so often terminate at Sheffield anyway, they might as well.

Hi Brian - I had wondered why the cab content had dried up. Hopefully common sense will prevail cheers Euan

Yes 185s can't take advantage of SP speed limits due their higher axle loadings. They are heavy brutes, built like a panzer tank.

How come old style signal ie.non modern led signals are being used on a quite busy line in 2023 Surely that must limit line speed and capacity and have huge gaps between sections on the line with a lack of 3 aspect signalling at ya first location ?

Line speed is 90mph over there and yes it means capacity is limited

All the signal boxes on the Hope Valley have had intermediate blocks installed, splitting the sections between boxes in two. This helps, but not enough for current demands. Grindleford and Totley Tunnel East boxes are due to close within the next year as part of the Hope Valley capacity increase program. Earles Sidings, Edale and Chinley boxes are staying. The program is also including a second platform at Dore & Totley Station, as well as a new goods loop.

@@lucyanderson9322 thanks bro I love down south and see that type of signalling on heavy traffic lines So when brian was doing his video and I looked I thought that's alot of trains for that signalling Especially as was seeing Stoppers Expresses Frieght s Network rail stock I was like woah but breaking them down now explains it but 2023 UK thought every thing signaling main lines and busy kind of main line would be leds with 3 aspect signaling

@@Chad-xi1lt You’d be surprised at some of the outposts of mechanical signal boxes. You cannot go from London to Scotland on the WCML without being signalled by a lever frame - Crewe Bassford Hall, Crewe Steel Works and Winsford! Rather famously there’s the “Stockport 5” - within around 3 miles of each other there’s Edgeley Jct. No.1 & 2, Stockport No.1 & 2 and Heaton Norris Jct. They’re signalling pendolinos on colour light signals using bells and lever frames! There is quite a few mechanical boxes left in the southern region, such as those at Haslemere, Hastings, Deal, Littlehampton, Minster and Bognor Regis. There’s even four mechanical boxes in London!

None of those videos shows the cab they show the track. So if you’re going to be snarky get your facts straight, however I was told by my employer not to do it and sorry but KZread doesn’t pay my wages Freightliner does
