Train travel in a Japanese peaceful seaside town

Choshi City is about two hours from Tokyo Station by express train called "Shiosai," but it is a peaceful and worthwhile place to visit. Choshi Electric Railway and the stations on the line are pretty nostalgic. You have to walk to Byoubugaura for 20~25 minutes from Tokawa station or for 10 minutes from Inubouzaki station by taxi. The view is amazing, especially at sunset. You can go back to Choshi station from Byoubugaura by bus.

I love the idea of wandering to an off the beaten track place to support a train company that's going out of business. I love the idea of observing those minute details like the morning quietness. Subtle and delicate moments these.

I want to go to Japan! Never been. Until this dream comes through I would probably explore more Czech Republic. Their trains are as cute as shown in your video. Czechs are also like Japanese of Europe. Shy and with their own world of mystery...

Sad the train line had to close down during the pandemic. As you said, I do enjoy big train stations that are modern (their architecture is beautiful!) but there's simply something magical about older ones. The years they've provided service, the people that went through, the story of when they were first built... I'd like to visit abandoned ones if I ever have the chance to!
