Vlog of my solo trip to Kyoto and Nara a year ago

I've been very busy lately that I can't make videos, so I edited memories of my trip to Kyoto and Nara I took a year ago. The image quality of some footages in this video is not so good because at that time I did not understand the camera very well. That’s why there is very little night footage. But don't worry, I had dinner at night: ) And the Nara part is very short because I lost some of the footage...
Anyway, It's very interesting to see now what Kyoto and Nara looked like a year ago. You might notice that already there were not many people, but there were still (some) foreign tourists.
Suddenly I feel like going to Kyoto and Nara again…

Went to Japan and spent 4 days in Kyoto with my wife in 2017 before we had kids. Amazing trip. We amazingly did almost the same itinerary. It is a warm feeling to live my memories of that trip through someone else eyes. Cheers mate. Thank you for sharing

Wow. I have so many memories of every place you went except the bamboo forest. My fondest memory of Kyoto station was when we were coming down the escalator, after attending our son and Japanese daughter in law's wedding at Kimigamo Shrine in 2010. At the bottom of the escalator were three elderly gentlemen who bowed to me. I was a tall westerner wearing mother in law wedding kimono. I felt very humbled.

Even if you've lost some data of your past trip in Nara, I've been able to entirely enjoy your wonderful trip video in Kyoto and Nara ! 😉 I love the fact that you present these majestic cities through both their ancient and contemporary sides. Kyoto is a big city with an extremely rich traditional patrimony like the iconic Kiyomizudera temple and Ryoanji garden, but also incredible modern architectural artworks like Kyoto train station and the city tower. This city let us feel its animosity through a permanent crowd of people and vehicles, but also a surprising feeling of serenity when we visit the wonders of Kyoto, as in the bamboo forest of Arashiyama or around Kinkakuji temple. Nara is a city that has as much charm as Kyoto, but with the advantage of offering a much quieter environment as well as memorable meetings with deers. This other iconic city of Kansai region offers an extraordinary richness of traditional patrimony as well as gorgeous, spacious parks. Nara Park is a fantastic place where we can literally live among deers. These lovely animals seem to have plenty of love to offer to every human passing by them, even if these animals can sometimes express their love in an impetuous way. I'm so happy to see that Nara is a kind of paradise where human and deers live in harmony together. I'm very grateful to you as you let us remind that the meeting with the nature and the traditional culture is enough to make our experience in Japan forever memorable. ☺🙏🏻

Just one minute into the video, you reminded me of when I forgot what locker area in Kyoto Station I put my suitcase in the day I was supposed to take a train to Osaka. Those video shots of the station made me exhausted remembering how I was running all over the place for at least one hour trying to find the locker. ;) Good times.

I laughed at the trip to the Hard Rock Cafe... a very american style restaurant even in america. Looks so interesting styled like a Japanese building as well. Beautiful video. I've been to Kyoto many years ago on a group tour. After dinner, I went alone to an onsen. It was quite an experience. I really enjoyed it. Fortunately there were two American missionaries that explained the procedure to me. I had quite a few Japanese want to practice their English with me. That was fun especially when they found out I was from Houston Texas. They were space enthusiasts.
