Shimane Travel Vlog | national treasure, the ancient shrine, Japanese sleeper train

Subtitles in more than 10 languages are now available (so far only this video)!
Happy New Year!
I have uploaded this before the new year holiday vlog.
I stopped by Shimane on my way back from a work trip to Okayama, and this is it. Many of you have probably never heard of Shimane Prefecture, but some of you may have heard of Izumo Taisha shrine. It is a peaceful place with many other spots as well.

Thanks to our Japanese daughter in law we travelled to lots of shrines by trains in Japan. Best way to go. We also went to a bird and flower park at Kakegawa. We were actually able to walk amongst a flock of emus, something we have never been able to do here in Australia! Really really hoping to come to Japan in December this year.

This was beautiful. It eased my anxiety as I'm going through exams and a generally stressful time. I looked up videos for Shimane, as I'm hoping to join University for my Masters there this winter. I was afraid about how the place will be as my boyfriend who lives in Tokyo has never been there and he wanted me to go to Tokyo. I think I will enjoy this tranquility and peace at Shimane. I think I am making the right choice by wanting to study in Shimane as I know I can always rely on the timely trains and flights back to Tokyo. Lots of love to you and to Japan.

Hello Everyone, Just received notice of the winners in the Hatsu-KZread contest, for the first video of the new year. Congratulations are extended to our own Ryo, 'aka' Sorekara Melancholy, who has earned the Excellence Award, by popular vote! Many of the voters expressed their love & gratefulness for his deep insight & sensitivity in capturing the healing power of nature & the wholistic place humans have in the natural world. They also referenced his previous videos, for their supernatural ability to sooth, inspire, comfort, relax, 'take them along' & help them endure difficult times. Thanks to all the kind fans & fellow-travelers for their support...and Ryo, for his priceless contributions!!
