    other than what trae said, the reality and facts that you can see on the floor = 1. Kyrie isnt ball dominant, he is a very great Off ball player in fact. He is also have the rare ability to catch the ball in the paint and score as a small guard. similar to lets say josh hart/gary payton II. Im not talking driving inside and finishing as a guard, but getting a pass inside the paint and finishes. 2.for how great his ahndle is, he doesnt over dribble. At all. when people say kyrie handles is his best trait, bro what about his footwork and touches? he doesnt play the "lul defender into sleep" ball. He attacks efficiently. He plays like he is a 6'6 shooting guard.

    yeaa he rarely takes more than 20 shots a game , only time he is ball dominant is when he’s ON fye 🔥🥵 && it makes sense to continue to let the hot hand shoot etc .. cause he’ll be on like that 40 point game and go like 14-23 & then the next night he’ll go like 7-14 or whatever letting his teammates get theirs (also give the other star *Luka* a chance to redeem himself if needed) .. it’s happened a lot throughout the course of his prime years .. he’s rarely even been in the top usage percentages for players throughout his career so idk why they always consider him ball dominant .. maybe it seems that way.. like idk just how he has the ball on a string & moves around the court bizarrely yet so quick & efficiently .. Kai is so smooth > < it’s one of the best outcomes you would get **um well of course which makes it non toxic to the team play** ..

    It's the same damn problem as Booker and Beal, they are the same player. Both have similar build, both have similar shot selection, and both scores the same way. Neither of them moves off-ball to either find a lane to cut or create an opening for a catch and shoot, and both of them really can only start their offense on the perimeter. Seriously their biggest difference is Dejounte is more active on defense and can be more aggressive when attacking the rim while Trae is a better passer and has more range as a shooter

    "These are two very ball dominant gaurds" -- definitely not true of Kyrie. In his younger days, he put on a lot of dribbles and moves to get to the basket and he was 90% thinking "I'm definitely going to shoot this ball." However, if you've listened to how he's intentionally been evolving his game, and watched it a bit, you'd know that even when he was already considered elite / super star, he's been critiquing himself for taking way too many moves and being inefficient. And he certifiably wants to win, whatever he has to do. I didn't watch him much in Boston, but starting from the Nets, it was clear he didn't have to be the initiating point of attack and he was solid off ball while improving it. Luka + Kyrie works because Kyrie is such a complete basketball player and has long understood, "Being a major point scorer isn't the best or only way to impact a win" and at the same time, he's not afraid of such moments. Dallas works because it's not a basketballl market where too many basketball-dumb people say dumb things about a result or what he does. That's what you'd get if you were in LA or NYC. Luka is a great teammate because, he is #1 so in theory "blame" (though this is really a media problem) goes to him for losing big games and the media + Luka relationship dynamic is entirely different than media+Kyrie when things are going tough; and it's mostly an issue with the media. Media has less of an excuse to push into irrelevant topics with Kyrie Irving in his current position. I also think the Mavericks as an organization care about Kyrie more and will appropriately handle the press doing stuff like that, whereas in Brooklyn, it seemed like Joe Tsai most certainly intentionally drove to media to do what they did.

    kyrie's ball usage is almost half of luka especially when luka is on the court and he has shortened his time from catch and shoot by a lot which is why its working booker could make similar changes if he wants to work with durant

  • @jjcometa9333
    @jjcometa9333Ай бұрын

    This is wildly different than when KP got there. Kyrie and Luka worked cause Kyrie was willing to work with Luka. You cant always impose your will on something. Thats exactly what kyrie did. Luka wants the ball in his hands, sure but when youre on the bench its kyrie time. Youre gassed in the 2nd half, lemme cook in the 2nd half. Oh yeah it also helps kyrie is so skilled and a great shooter and leader. KP wasnt doing any of that. Add to that, that he was always injured. He was wildly inconsisten on 3. When hes in the post, he couldnt punish the mismatch. So how do you work with someone like that?

    Dude when multiple superstar caliber players get on one team there has to be sacrifices. All he's saying is Kyrie isn't trying to take over and force Luka to change his way of playing. Everybody thought Kyrie being ball-dominant would interfere with Luka's game.
