Thank you to everyone involved in the making of that video. Allowing us a window to look through and watch a family tradition is unique and should be cherished. Very few times on KZread are people able to capture this in a natural way. Just as it played out. Thanks for that.
The usos did a seki job showing you the Fa’ a Samoa ways. Nice to see you embrace it
They say "some things money can't buy"... I understand there was a price attached to your travel, your fishing gear etc etc however, for us viewers at home, the experience you just provided us for free was a perfect representation of some things money can't buy. Thank you to John and his family for sharing a slice of their culture. Thank you Briggsy for your always humbling humour. This was special content guys 👌🏼
Excellent vedio. Thankyou for embracing the culture and taking us from our living rooms with you. Well done

probably the coolest catch and cook you're ever going to see. humbling stuff.
So cool to see the Samoan culture! Thanks for sharing Briggsy! Love your work mate keep it up 👍
As a Samoan born and raised in New Zealand I was blown away by how much work is involved in Samoan cooking but it is so beautiful and even my little cousins were cooking haha I felt useless lol Love my people love my culture thank you for the upload beautiful video 💙🇼🇸
Thank you for sharing the Samoan culture. I find it fascinating how the food was prepared.
❤ this is how we cook almost everyday I’m glad you got to experience this
its almost like being there! This is how i would love to spend my time in a newly visited place thats rich in culture, the video is yum you guys, id have it no other way. The editing is perfect for the subject, not much cuts, no unnecessary video/sound effects. Thanks to you guys for this content, this is already a way to preserve precious tradition and culture, cant ask for anything else but more, stay safe.
Briggsy is the G.O.A.T. and is an amazing steward for fishing/angler culture. I live in North Carolina and discovered his channel when I got into fishing during COVID and it makes me so happy to see him use his platform to honor traditions of indigenous people. I hope to travel to Australia someday and do some proper salt water fishing!
Yo I’m from American Samoa same culture as Western Samoa….umu time is the boys get together and have fun doing it good time catch up on stuff all brotherhood love and laughters bro them good old days back home 😂❤🇦🇸🇼🇸

Not western anymore bro just Samoa 😎
Awesome Briggsy. I love a good Sunday lunch and that looked amazing. Thanks for sharing
Amazing to watch, using an old can to scrape/peel the taro, very eye opening to see a glimpse of this wonderful culture
How patient were those guys with you. Great vid and an awesome chance to share in thier culture.
What a trip, Briggsy! Nice you got to experience a little of that Samoan family life. By the way, octopus EVERYWHERE is chewy due to improper cooking. To get the best results, it's either "low and slow" like they did it or "hot and fast" to get the best results. Same concept as squid/calamari, if you think about it.
Thank you so much for this video. And thank you to the Samoans who made it all possible. Awesome guys. It felt like I was there too. Man I got soooo hungry when you started eating. 😃
Love it!
Briggsy, thank you so much for sharing this amazing content. Total respect to all involved. Brilliant.
Palusami, oka, fe'e and faeai eleni is delicious 😋 I'm a samoan but born in Australia, and samoan food in samoa is on another level! Much better to eat it there then to eat it in Australia because of the umu.
Malo lava seki a le video a boys🤙Great job!! Most welcome to our island and experience the lifestyle samoa in old days🌺always love to eat and got the best taste with food wrap with banana leaves& coconut leaves..as samoan traditionally wrappers back in a days.
In summer 2017 I took a two month vacation to American Samoa stayed at a friend's family village of Amaluia on the main island of Tutehuila with two brothers Misipele and Setefano live in the village. The dish made from taro leaves is "palusami." About 7 leaves stacked together to form a cup and filled with mix of fresh coconut cream, sliced onions and salt. The whole package is wrapped into a banana leaf then a breadfruit leaf and baked one hour in the "umu". The leaves to pick are the middle young leaf (moi) of each taro plant. I miss my experience sooo much!
Awww wow I am so homesick, the recording of process was beautiful. It reminded me of my childhood with my dad and brothers 💜
Cool experience for you! so much care and effort taken to create the meal, like a work of art👌
Palusami and Kalo are a match made in heaven. Especially the fresh one in Samoa. I’m not surprised by the uso reaction. Best food ever in my opinion.
the attention to detail preparing the food was amazing .and knowing that John started to learn at 8 years old .we have lost so many traditions in the uk its a shame.
This is very beautiful that they share there culture with others. So beautiful
Nice Footage Briggsy! It’s truly amazing to see how these People prepare their Meal! So much effort and so much respect upon the food! Chapeau! 👍Thanks for the Video!

Yes it’s the men’s job to cook umu outside in the open cook house while we women cook the meats etc in our indoor modern kitchens. Back in the day all type of cooking took place outside. What these boys cooked (umu) is every Sunday day for every single family. After church everyone gathers around for a family feast, nap before going to afternoon church again 😊
Thats a keeper, fish on !!!
Hello from Australia👋🏾👋🏾 I love traditional cooking yummy😋❤❤
Mate, that was SO INTERESTING! Thanks for sharing. 😊👍
It's so cool how they wrap the fish.

This was so cool to watch! Thank you for sharing. Psycho of you to grab glowing hot taro off the rocks like that 😂
Briggsy! Malosi! Family! That has got to be the coolest content I ever saw! Not taking anything from fishing films but, so eye-opening to see how it's done and how it has been done for generations! Awesome learning experience! Love it, love it, love it!!! Funny thing is I'm in Hawaii and have never seen traditional cooking like that... too modernized lifestyle I guess. Bigbig THANK YOU for sharing guys!! 🤙👍👊🤙👍👊 ALOHA! FA!
Malo Uso. Genuinely enjoyed this. Laughing at how much fun you guys were having. 🇼🇸

Jus love the way they are full of joy and laughter and happiness right on 💪🏽💯🔨🤙🏽🤙🏽
This is amazing. How we used to use all the food on this planet. These traditions are unfortunately far too gone. How most of us don't know how to utilize all the food our planet has to offer is unfortunate. Many thanks for this vid brah 🤙
It's not just coming together to eat, it's coming together to prepare a meal with tradition and heart, with and for loved ones. It's time spent together, time caring for and bonding with one another..... it's priceless and beautiful is what it is.

Hi Mate, I would have been keen but am in an exclusive deal with Malosi now. Definitely hit up other KZreadrs and influencers, there’s a fair few out there these days and it’s a great way to get your lures exposure 👍
