Here's a story that I'll remember Kobe by. My friend in Maine loved Kobe, and my friends Dad worked border control for an airport. Well Kobe was on the itinerary for a flight coming back from Italy. So he called my friend and told him Kobe was going to be landing there. Well my friends Dad asked Kobe if he'd spend a sec with his son for a pic. Well he ended up spending 20 minutes with him. Kobe gave a regular Joe 20 minutes of his busy life to a relative nobody. That meant everything to my friend.

I have 3 girls and one who went to college on a basketball scholarship. Even though Kobe did way more than I could ever dream of on the court, he was in my exact position pushing his 13 year old daughter on and off the court. I can see all of the excitement, smiles before the games, pep talks on the way to games, watching his daughter be a silly teen with her friends while enjoying life. It is all a father could hope to be a part of and to have that along with everything else stripped away is just too much to bear.

That's what hurts the most is when you think about the wife and the kids that are left behind... I pray for there family and ask God to give them strength

When you’ve contemplated suicide and didn’t want to live it’s times like this that you realize if other ppl could live they would. It’s so selfish of me to think that way sometimes. I want live and live life fully like Kobe. I want to wake up everyday and love what I do and inspire ppl. Thank you Kobe. Thank you God for life.

That little girl was indeed special. She was Kobe all over again. That was his child, 100%! She was born with the Mamba mentality.

These are people that knew Kobe as an athlete and friend so they are really hurt!!

My cousin is a huge Star Trek fan. I heard a quote in a movie that Bones said in the film: "He's not really dead, as long as we remember him." and Kobe will forever be remembered as a basketball legend for sure.
