I should remind you all that the reason why he ignored everyone else is because it was during the rape allegations. Nobody wanted his autograph everybody was angry with him and he was warming up an hour before warm ups. I was able to get there early because my mom and I Would be the first ones to go through that door almost every time we had a routine where I knew the other team would warm up and where they would warm up and I would run there as soon as they let us in through the door. What made this difference is I was a little kid and I didn’t understand what was going on with Kobe‘s rape allegations. Well everyone was believing the fake hype I was still a little kid yelling Kobe you are the best to him and that is when that happened.

I remember this day like it was yesterday , it was a Sunday morning where we do Sunday basketball runs in the ymca. When your sitting on the bench waiting for your turn everyone is on their phone then all of a sudden everyone screaming yo Kobe died! Kobe dying left a awkward moment where everyone who was playing wasn’t even in the mood anymore also in disbelief and everyone left the gym in silence and went home. That day was unforgettable

Kobe def hit different. For myself he was always just a great athlete and entertaining to watch. We have next to nothing in common. I quit sports after highschool. I'm a few years younger and plenty of shades whiter. I think what connected us is I can only imagine his feeling of helplessness being there with his baby girl. As a father that hit me the hardest. Seeing pics and videos of he and gigi. Nobody is immortal. I definitely held my kids a little tighter that night.

I went over to console my mother and then my wife showed me a post about Kobe and gogo reportedly dead in accident. One of those moments I had so many emotions going at one time I couldn't react right away I was already dealing with my step fathers passing. Didn't cry until the following day I was able to let it all out. Kobe Bryant was the ultimate person I idolized my whole life. I'm still in disbelief that Kobe Bryant was once here and no longer exists.

that day everyone heard the news people where in shock. me I was to but I didn't cry. Yeah Kobe was one of my favorite player but he is not my family or friend. bro doesn't even know I exist. my friends where sad so I cheered them up and bought them some Kobe's. ever since Kobe died never talked of him I haven't bought a Kobe sneaker since his death. I took down posters and everything. the only thing I have of him is his jersey. everytime I see a video I see rip Kobe comments. there was other lives to. if your gonna say that mention everyone that died. that's why I got rid of my Kobe stuff. people use his name to much. I'm not being disrespectful I'm just letting kobe rest peacefully. you only got to say rest in peace once. my friend once said these words to me before his death so take this with you as I do. You must always look forward towards the future, never look back and dwell on the past if you look back on the past you won't see what's infront of you, you always gotta look forward to avoid the hurdles that might tamper your progress of growth. I'm not saying forget Kobe. I'm saying he is of the past. he is not here. he is not with us for us to keep calling his name. thank you for reading. no I'm not a motivational speaker. Im just a guy who dealt with a lot of depressed people in the hood
