We were glad of them on that dark disused railway, Malc. It was surprising how much light the front ones cast on to the ground to help us see.

Radio amateur radio operator's do something similar, radio direction finding, their version of fox hunting with out the fox, the fox is a hidden radio transmitter which a group of people would go out to find.

Great informative video Roy. I have a Tile for my Android phone but have never had to use it so have always wondered how effective they are.

A different kind of video. Sort of a scavenger hunt! I did have to start watching it a second time as I was a bit confused as to which tag you were trying to locate. Then I caught you explaining that Mike was carrying both your Android tag and Wendy's iPhone tag. Felt a little foolish I missed the explanation the first time around. Mike sure made certain you had to work to find him. 😊 So were you satisfied with how the test went?

Yes, surprisingly satisfied. We will be making part two shortly and in that I shall be looking at how accurate it is. For example, will it show the precise location of a stolen bike?

Speaking of feeling foolish. I went over to meet,and film some trike riders, on Saturday. I wondered why they hadn’t turned up - until I realised I was a day early 😀

@@RideWithRoy -- I keep an eye out on KZread for videos re trike riders. So far, I've found 3 or 4 channels but they all are about recumbent trikes. My own trike is an upright, more like riding a bicycle. I have better visibility and feel as tho I am more visible to drivers. Unfortunately, it's way slower than a bike (or maybe it's just me) so I'm lucky to not want to race. 😉 When you get these trike riders recorded, I hope there will be a video. 🤞

Looks a good item, is it the same size as an apple airtag, I like the idea of the bell you can get with a space in the bottom for an airtag or a mount for under a bottle cage.

Very similar. The size is shown on their website. Personally, I don’t like the bottle cage type of mount as thieves can easily spot it. If it’s advertised to us it’s also seen by thieves.

There are far more android phones in the world than iphone

Yes, I saw that when I did the research, but it’s the other way around in the UK and USA. It would be interesting to understand why that is.

I've never paid more than £100 for a decent Android phone. Not sure that you can get much from Apple for that.

Yes, huge difference. You can pay silly money for Android but I also never pay more than £100 for a smartphone that does everything I need it to.
