This was a hit the spring of 1969. I was a senior in high school trying to get over a break up. In 1972 I was in Army Basic Training in Fort Gordon, Georgia just outside of Augusta. On our first leave three friends and I went to Augusta. We went in to a place called the Kit Kat Club. Lo and behold Dennis Yost and the Classics four were in there singing this song. I was already homesick but this really made it worse.

My dad told me that this was one of my mom's favorite songs. They were high school sweethearts. The ended up not staying together. Only married for 2 yrs. My mom died 3 yrs ago. Wow, my dad actually remembered this.
