Stormy - Classics IV (Lyrics on the Screen)

Музыка

"Stormy" is a hit song by the Classics IV released on their LP Mamas and Papas/Soul Train in 1968. It entered Billboard Magazine October 26, 1968, peaking at #5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and #26 Easy Listening.
The final line of the Chorus has the singer pleading to the girl: "Bring back that sunny day".
This single release along with the prior release of "Spooky", and soon afterward the release of "Traces", made great success for the band, a part of the well known songs from the ensemble.

They sure don’t make like this. I always sing this song and it brings fond memories. I was 18 years old, female just graduated High school & decided to join the U.S.A. Women’s Army Corp and went around the world twice. I kept hearing this song as I traveled & it kept my spirits high. I miss 1968 😢 but needless to say I have such great memories to fall back on. Thank you Jesus for guiding me till now, praise the Lord. This song Stormy really made me have a happy mood when I was sad. 👍😘🥰❤️🙏

There are few groups who can evoke a mood, visceral and haunting. These guys did that with not only "Stormy", but with "Spooky" and "Traces". What a songwriting gift!

I fell in love with "Stormy" the moment I heard that magnificent voice of Dennis Yost. Same thing with "Traces" and "Spooky." The Atlanta Rhythm section does a superb job with their version of "Spooky," but the Classics IV version, I believe the original version, eeks to the winner circle. Mr. Yost's voice is hard to beat.

I was married with a 3 yr old. Timing is everything. An old friend, just send me photos from ore early drag racing days in 68. Best music ever.. it's like you can feel it under your skin .. now a days there's nothing worth that can compare.. I was 7 when this song came out ... and this song ..like all the others were and are still very truley heartfelt. as I'd be doing something at home this music was always around me... more so when I'd practice certain dance steps while listening to it.. remembering how fun it was having my father join in . as he was a smooth dancer himself..lol..even though he was only into traditional Italian music.. which I grew to love too.. so much symphony and strings used in most part of Italian songs..amazing melodies that also GAVE goosebumps listening to it... like the sound tracks of Ennio Morricone .. masterpieces used in Clint Eastwood westerns.. etc.....but when hed listen to english ones of my likes.. he knew and felt the soul rhythm of it and swayed to the music with me... great memories never fade...same as I .. feeling it in my bones as I grew with those unforgettable tunes ..... I love all music ..especially ones that have classy soul sound to it... and back then music was great creativity made well... these white guys back then really had it in them.... as we then went bjt further into 70's ... the Donna Summers...the Carly Simon and Barry Manalow ....Gino Vanelli ..the Barbara Stresiend decade....the popular single of Shaft that then was made into series..and the kool soul unfading one of a kind sexy music of Barry White... later into the decade .. the BEE GEES.. the Saturday night Fever era that left an unfading footprint...TRULEY the best era of unforgettable masterpieces ....great classy times that had style and great cool styles that keep coming back where soul was rich and unique.... lets not forget the sexy saxaphones were in...gave whole different sound ..... used in " Earth Wnd and Fire."... . "KC & sunshine band".. Kool and the Gang".. The Comodores.. etc.. love love love those days... can someone invent a time machine so i can go back...really miss the beautiful simplicity of it all that cannot compare at all to today's era at all!!!..

I remember driving my car in 1968 with this song on the AM radio. I put a speaker in the back with a reverberator. The sound was amazing, for back then..

Was in a high school band. "The only band in town". Which we we're. (😋). Not good. Just loud. One of our favorite hits. Kids loved it. Played the bass. So cool...... To have your girl looking up, with big moon eyes..... Rocking to this. Good, hell, great, times

I was 6 years old, the youngest of the boys in my family, only a sister 18 months younger than me, and that song used to play constantly on a San Diego station, KCBQ, now I can't even describe the kind of emotions that it brings to my being. It's like the ghost from the past visits me and I'm face to face with it for a short time and I want to catch it but I can't. What feeling!
