I just lost my brother yesterday....He had Alzheimer's and we took this journey together.....I am his sister and he was my brother....I took all the burden and I never complained...I don't know what others are talking about ...God is good and Jesus is the only way ....God bless you brother because you suffer no more!! My younger brother passed away last week, this song made me cry so badly, as I didn't really took all the burden like you. he had been left alone as he was never married until the day he died at 53, and we, all siblings, been busy with each family business. I was in high school when this song came out. It stood out above all the other songs. I couldn’t figure out why. Fast forward to the age of 30 when my 4 year old son was tragically hurt from a drunk driver. My son suffered a traumatic brain injury. My husband was killed and I was two months pregnant. Through the years, I often thought about this song. It seemed sort of prophetic. It hasn’t been my brother that I have carried, but my son. 39 years now. But, he ain’t heavy and God gives me the strength to carry on. He is so worth carrying.

Because that was a much friendlier, healthier, fun time to be here. Grew up in the 50s,60s, 70s, and feel so lucky to have experienced that time of this life. Compared to now, which is a selfish, greedy, hateful life; 95% is the fault of human beings. I'm glad to say that I'm the same in my 70's as I was in my teens and 20's.

My brother laid down his life for me. He passed to the Glory of God more than ten years ago, and to this day I can not even approach his passing; it hurts the same way, just like the day he died. He carried me throughout his life, and never complained. I wish he had lived a single hour more, so that somehow I would have carried him if only once, because…truly…he would have not been heavy. He was, after all, my beloved brother.

I lost one brother to cancer, one to COVID, he also had dementia. I lost another brother to heart disease plus he also had dementia. My last brother suffers from parkinson and also has signs of dementia. Has been very hard to see family die. It's even worse watching them waste away. 😢

That is expected. Living out the song would be to help a total stranger because they are human. Your blood brother is not heavy. Can you say the same about someone who is not related? This beautiful song reminds me of my son and his best friend. I always wanted more kids, but was blessed enough to have 2; a boy and a girl. My son always wanted a brother. One day he befriended the new kid at school, that no one liked, because the new boy was overweight, poor, and did not have nice clothes like all the other kids. But my son did not care about any of those things, he just saw a person. Fast forward 15 years later. They are brothers, blood does not make them brothers, love and loyalty does. This kid has become a member of our family. I love him like a son, he’s our family. ❤

My brother passed away 2 years ago. I couldn't even attend his funeral because I was stuck overseas due to plandemic. But now I will be able to go back in about 3 weeks from now and I will visit his grave. He was a good brother. He always stood with me in good and bad times. I wish I could have at least said good bye. I will fly back to my home town in the States but like all the times in the past he will not be standing there to greet me when I arrive. It is going to be hard!

I lost my brother, Iwan, last year 2021 during c19 pandemic. He was almost 46 years old. So long bro.. bring regards to dad up there. We miss You..

My younger brother suffers with serious schizophrenia and other mental health issues, im about 12 years older than him, this song reminds me so much of him, id do anything for him, while ever im alive, ill take care of him whenever he can't care properly for himself ❤

Went down this road with my two older brothers. One right after the other. Cancer won. Then my mother. I truly believe it was her shattered heart that claimed her life. 3 times…each one equally painful but in different ways… They were not a burden to me…not at all a burden. I held their hands, wiped their tears telling them it was ok. Ok to close their eyes never to open them again. They believed me…they each believed me 😢

My grandson is a county sheriff now, but his middle brother is also in the Marines, everytime I hear this song I think about him carrying a brother Marine to safety, whether the Marine was dead or alive, he wasn’t left behind

I knew about this song for years but never sat down to listen to it until today and it moved me almost to tears. This song was in the movie, Zoolander and it made want to hear it for the first time. It's beautiful. It made me think of my brother and his medical conditions and how I want try look after him.

To all of you who find yourself going through a little something "God Bless you and yours". that's life. This is what we go through until it's our turn. Believe it or not what I found to be extremely hard is being the last in line of all those you have come to love over the years but believe me when I say, this too will pass. Hang in there.
