Maytag commercial blows this out of the water

It looks like this new machine relies on the water moving through the clothes than the agitator pulling the clothes thru the water and beating them to clean them. The clothes that were put in the machine were clean to start with, so you really don't know if this action will clean really dirty clothes. I will stick with my old fashion machine from the early 90's to keep my clothing clean, yes it may use more water, but it will clean my clothes, and the repair costs are cheap. New stuff today doesn't last like things built years ago.

The build quality and engineering are superfluous. Any performance shortfalls can be remedied through cycle programming. I also think that slightly wider agitator vanes on the side of the centerpost would increase the amount of water pressure when the basket changes directions. Stabilizing the load a little more would increase water flow. I think that when a Heavy Duty cycle is selected there should be intermittent periods during the cycle where it spins something like twenty revolutions in each direction like an LG does. There’s so much potential development in this washer. Most of it will be through cycle programming and wash cycle times. The machinery itself is anvil solid.

If you look at the old-school washers from 30+ years ago, the fins on those agitators were about the same size and some even smaller. I like the "dual-action" agitator on the Maytag commercial washer.

I really like the spin cycle. Very effective 👌👌👌

Speed Queen has got to have the best water level auto sensing then any machine on the market. It fills one try to test and then gets it right. Performance seems the same as last year’s 2018 and as far as quiet the 2018/19 are the quietest machines I have ever heard except for the water splashing, virtually silent as far as mechanical noise while washing.

Reverse rollover is clearly visible when the video is run at 2x normal speed. It's important not to overfill for the load size to get better sloshing action. Auto-fill is your friend on these machines. Has anyone confirmed if water level sensing is fully variable or does it have discrete levels?

I wonder what the motor sounds like on this second edition. I'd like to see it with laundry detergent and real fabric softener for real. I want to hear the end of cycle signal. Keep up the good work!

Miss new videos of this washer

The wash action was substantially improved from the 2018 models, now the clothes actually bloom out of the agitator and roll over the whole tub.

The water fill on this 2019 model looks like it is spraying straight down, but on the older models (and 2018) it look like it sprays at an angle.

Funny, the drain pump sounds exactly like my 2005/2006 GE.

I have the 2019 tr5 2 gen and it don't go has long as that it only runs 19 mins with filling the tub and wash I am thinking about giving it back because I have to run 6 loads on one wash to get my clothes somewhat clean

I think Speed Queen still needs to make some tweaks to this machine. Some tweaks should be longer agitator fins, fins on the side of the tub. This current design looks like it isn't doing much. Good concept but poorly executed.

where did you get that topload speed queen on the floor with the graphics on the front it looks like my old speedy from 2008 before I upgraded to the 2017, I should’ve kept that machine because I hate the way this one does its first spin on delicate instead of high spin.

es350 just get a tc series but do not get the tr series like in this video the tc series uses actual agitation and theres a 2019 model out there :)

Wash action has definitely been modified, it has shorter strokes. Not by a lot, but it's certainly different. Also is it just me, or is the motor considerably quieter?

I could be wrong, but speed queen made the tub spin more aggressive during agitation back and forth to compensate as well.

Set the video speed to 2x and you can see the clothes being turned over in the bloom action (opposite of standard agitator)

They didn’t bring back the front loader for residential?

Wash action is definitely more vigorous on this revised version. However what’s the point of this washer? It still uses a lot of water, why not just keep the regular agitator. Could this design be cheaper to manufacture hence higher profits for Alliance?

Kirk, how did you get the drum to turn and water to fill, all the while having the door open? You must of disconnected the door switch and locking latch?

hey Kirk what are your thoughts? I have the 2019 TR7 model (I wanted the extra cycles of the electronic and the 7 year warranty).. to me It does a really good job of washing without beating my clothes to death.. im not sold on Auto-Fill.. I still like to size my fill.. but to me the wash action seems more aggressive than what the 2018 Models of these machines had.. am I off base or does it seem like Speed Queen Listened and altered the cycle program for better wash action? I am interested to know your thoughts.. everyone read the bad reviews of the 2018 and the geek in me wants to go buy a new TC5000 and run it side by side my TR7 to see how they compare.. but really I have no need for 3 washing machines.. (my old LG front load) plus the TR7 and if I bought a TC5.. but really my maion interest is in comparing 2018 TR series to 2019 TR series in terms of wash action.

I plan on doing a series of videos on the TR7 2019 model and that should answer most questions. There seems to be a slight program change on the TR3 or TR5 or both that viewers noticed. I noticed it too, it seemed to have been slightly more aggressive. These days in new machinery, most enhancements are done with software. I feel that the washer Loraine Furniture featured in 2017 was for testing purposes only and not a production model of the 2018 series. it was a breakdown machine for techs for learning purposes and not to be sold to the public. Even that machine ran a different program than the production model based on my videos. A few months ago the program changed slightly again.

@@kirkrivas8172 agreed on software.. esp when you have a 1 HP VFD motor and a heavy belt.. they can do a LOT with software and that setup. the wash action could be very aggressive if they really wanted it to be. i also believe in the fact of people not coming into new machine lines with open minds.. for many years everyone was programmed to watch a washing machine spin a rag over in the tub 29 times and say "yep great turn over it really cleans".. watxhing my TR7 wash seems like it does much more with 1. getting clothes in contact with the agitator itself.. 2. with running clothes against each other.. similar to the concept of a front loader.. and 3. creating turbulence in the water.. essentially letting the water and detergent wash away the dirt. this type of wash actiuon seems quite sensitive to properly putting the right amount of water in for the load size.. I do think the auto-fill short changes most loads by about 1-2" of water in the tub. im guessing the wash axction on my TR7 is the same as your TR3 and TR5.. im told not many suppliers stock the TR7 as it its MSRP is over $1000.. im also interested to know in how the software is updated on these.. can a service-call update the firmware on these machines or is it required to ship the board off to alliance to have it done?

Does SQ have a multi-speed agitator? slow for delicates, faster for normal?

How is lid up? Mine locks at very start. How to bypass this?

I have a 2017 fully equipped one . The wash action on this has improved rather well ! I would give this improved wash action a try if mine dies

Can you wash 5 para pants and two large towels in the speeed queen tr 7 on the heavy duty cycle with el large load size laundry detergent and fabric softener please And thank Kirk

What’s the TR3s fastest speed RPM?

Ok Kirk just went back to your 2018 TR3 Model and watched the blue tape that you put on the agitator go around, It made 2 full revolutions back and forth where this 2019 model only does 1 1/2... I also noticed that the short strokes in between run for a longer period of time now then on the 2018 model!!! All and All I'm still a very happy camper, I have my S.Q. TR5 set for 7 months now and can't find a thing to complain about except for the touchy start button that you sometimes have to push more then once!!! But other then that I've done a ton of different loads and everything comes out clean and fresh smelling so what more can you ask for??? Thanks for the update Kirk and have a great weekend!!!

Mine had the same issue, took the control panel off and the connectors to the button were not pushed in all the way. Works on just one touch now, every time.

Mine wouldn't work at all at one point. Everytime i unplugged the machine and plugged it back in it it would work for one cycle tgen act up again.

They've got to comply with D.O.E. restrictions on energy usage just like everybody else. They've done a heck of a job considering the restrictions. The build quality is far superior to anything else.

craigsclocks: This machine actually performs really well. If I were you if you’re considering this machine, I’d wait until this iteration comes out as the agitation was tweaked just a bit to perform better than the iteration out now.

I think it was revised in 2018. This one sounds exactly like mine on the agitation and perhaps why I’m not having the presumed wash issues.

Definately shorter agitation strokes than my 2018 TR5, i kinda like the longer strokes better.

Why in blue blazes would they let the tub move along with the agitator? Nothing's getting done because the same clothes move back and forth. This is what a malfunctioning washer with a broken brake package or missing / worn snubbers would do. We already figured this out years ago. What's next, cars with square tires?!

Can older 2018 models be updated to this new wash cycle, people shouldn't be beta testers.

Mine failed to start this weekend, i had to unplug it again to get it to start, i am going to call for service.

Man oh man my blood pressure is going up because I can't stand watching this machine this is pure torture.

Still too much wasted cleaning energy with turning of the wash basket, during agitation.

The wash action sure is different. Can you wash 5 pairs of blue jeans?

This WAS" A good washer when it had the wash action like the Vintage conventional top loads from earlier days.. But then Speedqueen had to go and ruin it with a almost fake agitator that hardly moves your clothes and that useless agi-tub...

Not sold on this machine yet...do a dirty heavy jean wash to almost over-capacity and then see what it will do or even towles.

It's the end of SQ washers.

Check out the newly available (May, 2019) TC5000WN. It's the real deal, a true return to the old school independent dasher (agitator is such a William F. Buckley word). I've only washed two loads in mine, but I'm convinced of its performance.

Could probably get a better wash if you just threw your clothes in a bucket with detergent and soaked them. So glad I got a 2017.

mike miller Lorain Furniture is an honest appliance retailer, go watch their video on this machine. Best on the market? If I didn't have a 2017 Speed Queen, I would take the Maytag MVWP575GW. Ignorance is thinking this is a somehow a good machine, just because it's a Speed Queen.

mike miller haha yeah. The video where he says he finally tested a machine worse than the 2018 speed queen. That isn't the the MVWP575GW. You have to stop looking at machine brands as a whole and looking at the machines individually. What good is having a machine that doesn't clean well last 20 years?

What do you wash? If you're here, you are probably looking toward a top-loader, but that may not be your best choice if you wash lots of comforters or dog beds or sleeping bags. If those are infrequent adventures, you may find a top-loader to be more convenient. My most recent experience? I had two of the low-water-use HE top-load machines (one GE and one LG), and found the performance to be disappointing, both in terms of cleaning and durability (the GE lasted less than two years, the LG less than six), and the water usage was outrageous because the machine filled brim-full and drained three to four times to balance the load. Long story short, I recently (May, 2019) bought the $1029 (plus tax and delivery) Speed Queen model AWN632SP116TW01, product code TC5000WN. It washes my clothes well (very grimy jeans come out clean), and the NORMAL ECO cycle takes less than a half-hour, add ten minutes for an extra rinse. There have been some who say it doesn't turn the clothes over well, but mine turned a load consisting of two 60x70-inch heavy fleece throw-type blankets top to bottom within three minutes of agitation. The Maytag MVWP575GW "COMMERCIAL" model is also a fine machine, and some reviews suggest that it performs better in some tests than the SQ. From what I've seen, it should be available around $800 or less. Be aware, though, that this is not in any way the same machine as the so-called Maytag "COMMERCIAL TECHNOLOGY" machines at the big-box stores (Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy, Brand Smart, etc.). Check the reviews. There is a video review of the Amana NTW4516FW (available at $300 at the time) on KZread; it appears to work well, but it may not last as long as you might like. It or something comparable will probably also be available badged as Estate, Whirlpool, Crosley, Conservator, Roper, or several names I don't know through various big-box stores, priced between $300-$300. The reviews of the 2018-2019 Speed Queen product code starting with characters TR3, TR5 and TR7 have been mixed, to put it kindly. If you are between machines, I would suggest looking at what brand of machines they have at the coin laundry: they will probably be Speed Queen, Huebsch, or IPSO, all made by Alliance Laundry Systems. The coin laundry within walking distance of my house has rows of Speed Queens that have been in service for more than 30 years, four brand-new IPSOS, and several SQ and IPSO front-load double and triple loaders, my go-to for Baldurdash's bed or my sleeping bag. If you opt for a Speed Queen or a Maytag COMMERCIAL, you will need to find an independent appliance and furniture store that carries your choice. They will not be available at the big-box stores.Above all, I would recommend looking beyond the magazine reviews, beyond the big box store websites; watch the KZread reviews, and use those as part of your guide. There is a newer SQ with the older internal workings that works just great. Look for the TC5000WN.

Not impressed with that those tactile features. I’ve mentioned this before as the impaired have a tough time with this stuff . These features kinda confuse them and take away some independence but this is with virtually all appliances these days. Why a Speed Queen was chosen to begin with at our house.
