    I just love the indexing performance of this washer. That's why I love Speed Queen. Very straightforward and to the point. The performance reminds me of the Fridgidaire and White Westinghouse washers. I miss my mother's White Westinghouse washer. She had it for over 20 years until she had to get rid of it and my father bought her an LG washer.

    The tubs index when the machine is new. The reason why they still index even after all the test cycles is because they use vice-grips on one of the "vanes" of the transmission, to prevent it from indexing. You can see it on one of their videos, that is, if it's still up as of the redesign.

    This looks to be a better agitation than previous models with the indexing tub. One would think it would be more gentle on fabrics yet provide a thorough clean, similar to the old Westinghouse design. Currently have the 2015 432 model, nearly 3 years later it's still rough on fabrics, as a result I only load a half a tub of clothes, use full tub of water, limit agitation time to about 4 minutes with 20 minute soak, the result is an ok acceptable wash but no better. For the amount of clothes per load it uses to much water.

    I have the same machine. It tore a lot of my clothes, but sadly now, it won't agitate properly. So it has lasted for 6 years. I was told to expect 20! Fixing it will probably be half the price of a new one.

    This machines contol panel looks just like the old Raytheon/Goodman Amana washing machine. Even the knobs back then are exactly what this machine has on it now. I think Alliance bought Speed Queen from Raytheon years ago and apparently kept this style machine (mechanical's) all those years up to 2017.

    Scott Onasch The reason for it is government water regulation spinning at a slower speed leaves more water in the garments so the machine could actually save maybe a gallon or so of water that hasn’t been spin out helping it’s energy rating a little better.

    Clue: washing different sizes of clothes helps agitation, so it's best to throw in a few shirts, few shorts and a couple of pants. Washing a load of all pants is asking for residual soap issues and cleaning issues. Same things for sheets... throw in some pillowcases, washcloths and a couple of sheets. You'll see better results.

    Kirk thank you for posting - this just doesn't make sense why they cant use this one for residential use! This style is what people will want and not that 2018 adjtub that they wasted money building! I am almost sure the water level can be increased a bit to fill it to the rim. Even though it doesn't have a water level switch witch it should people will still want this washer because its simple durable and flexable. Plus it will really give the clothes a good cleaning!

  • @TheBobobobob123

    @TheBobobobob123

    6 жыл бұрын

    one theory behind the new design is that since they are discontinuing their residential front loaders, they have all the extra material that they can't just waste. So the motor and the other parts that they would use on a residential front loader is now being used in the same way but in the top loader form. Hence, why the the whole tub agitates back and forth and not the agitator itself.

  • @TheBobobobob123

    @TheBobobobob123

    yea thats what I thought too. they did say they were going to stop manufacturing in march 2018. they probably knew before hand that they were going to have extra front loader parts so they stopped manufacturing top loader parts so they won't have to throw away the front loader parts and just redesigned the top loader

    @kirkrivas8172

    Like I said in another post, my jaw dropped when I saw the review. Her review does not coincide with the feedback from my customers. In many cases concerning my business, no feedback is good feedback. Most people do not call back and say how much they love their machine. But, if they do not like it, I hear back really quickly. Even with the 2017, the normal cycle is restricted and avoided by the consumer who knows what they are buying. On small loads, the normal cycle on a HE top loader (impeller) probably works better than the normal cycle on the SQ, hence the better results. All other cycles on the SQ uses plenty of water to wash and rinse and do not have all of the restrictions compared to the Normal Eco cycle. The TR7 even has a warm rinse option which is a huge plus. The person also did not know the actual number of cycles capable of the TR7000. The test is not scientific, especially when normal cycles are altered due to restrictions from year to year it seems. Most of the Initial comments are negative towards the review and not the machine. I really liked the videography. It looked top notch. I respect CNET, but they really need to have a better test. Thanks for your post!

    Bruce Solomon Hey Mike here. I’m 47 years old and repaired and sold these machines. I know the business I was selling a store full of these machines and servicing them back in the 80’s. Indexing is weak point in this transmission and has nothing to do with a break in process. It’s a weak outdated drive breaking system and fails routinely and always has, but since I assume you’ve repaired laundromat machines you’d know this is a flaw correct? This prevents cloths from being cleaned properly in this machine. I’m glad for residential use it’s gone. Because it’s a pain in the ass on the commercial side. This is why you only get 3 years parts and no labor on this machine because they even know this at alliance and that hasn’t changed either in 30+ years since Raytheon owned SQ it’s a Raytheon design!!! Thanks for you concern in assuming technology is beyond me here. But I ave the inside scoop with history to back that up.
