Speed Queen SC27 Front-Load Industrial Washer Extractor
Ойын-сауық
Here's a quick video of a normal wash cycle with my Speed Queen washing machine. This is a 460 lb. behemoth that can wash 27 pounds of laundry at a time. It was quite challenging to transport down the stairs into my basement. I'm hoping that it will last indefinitely with proper maintenance. Now, I've got to find a matching dryer!

we have this style of washer in one of the custodian closets at my high school. nothing can stop it. it's a beast. It sits with a speed queen commercial gas dryer, which is about three times the size of the washer. It's amazing, and won't disappoint you.

I remember seeing 4 coin operated versions of those at a laundromat I used to go that was part of a Hess station. Quite a shame that by 2018 when it was a Speedway, most of the machines were out of order, and as of now it's a Marathon station with the laundry portion permanently closed. I got to look through the window of the laundry side of the building and all that was left was a few tables, tanks for the Speed Queen dryers, and the empty spaces where the machines once stood.
How's that machine ??? Please make a new video!! I love it 😘

I still have it, still use it regularly. The timer has been sticky occasionally, causing it to be stuck in part of a cycle. There's a manual advance feature if you hold down the start button that gets it unstuck. Otherwise, it's been reliable as gravity.

How are these machines capable of entering a spin cycle so fast? They seem like they never experience any imbalance issues, unlike other washers that need to re-balance the load 10 times before spinning.

@MicahTheBeast
3 жыл бұрын
This one is 240 volt single phase (like a residential electric dryer outlet). However, three-phase power was an option on these, so make sure that's not what you're buying if it's going to be used at home. Unless you have three-phase industrial power at home, of course... then by all means!
@gdcatalyst7812
3 жыл бұрын
@@MicahTheBeast hahaha I wish I had 3 phase power! Where did you get yours? And how did you run the drain? From past experience these machines don't really drain they sort of dump but maybe this style is different and I'm not used to it. Final question I promise, how did you mount it? Aren't they bolted to the floor?
@MicahTheBeast
3 жыл бұрын
@@gdcatalyst7812 1) I bought mine from a ranger station in a state park. 2) I ran the drain straight out into a basement floor drain, and yes, it dumps water quite rapidly. 3) When I purchased, they said "you don't need to bolt it down, it will stay put." After I ran it on the spin cycle the first time and all 500 lbs of it leapt 10 inches off the ground, I determined that was a lie. Terrifying! I had to rent a hammer drill and install threaded anchors into my basement floor. The instruction manuals give quite detailed installation instructions, down to the recommended thickness of the concrete pad it sits on.

Maybe it was set on permanent press, bc if the washer is set to permanent press it spins at a lower speed. As a result, the towels come out wetter
Is this a single phase machine or a 3 phase machine?
Does it spin between each rinse?
@MicahTheBeast
6 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does spin briefly in between.
This is a commercial washer that is found in a public laundromat and is bolted down to a concrete slab found in laundromat every public laundromat. The drying counterpart for a washer of this size is or would be a commercial gas dryer of 30Lbs or bigger because of the size/load of washer "27Lbs" so good luck finding a dryer of this size to fit into a residential home.
