I'm so glad that AWOK made your number 1 spot. My son Jackson and I discovered them at JOEFEST last year and were immediately hooked. Jackson has taken Pale with him on all of our trips. They are SO well done and whoever they use for manufacturing has the best plastic. Between Spero amd Valaverse, it's a great time to support indie companies. 100% Agree with AWOK being the #1 indie toyline of the year. The figures are spectacular, the quality and inter-changeability of parts is amazing. And they are just fun, fun to pose, fun to put with DC, Marvel, and Thundercats figures. There's very few toylines that I am "all in" on, but this is definitely one for me

Is Jada one of the big guns? Cause they are killing it with the Street Fighter figures.

On the videogame front Jada Toys have been doing a really good job with Street Fighter and are going to be going forward with Megaman this month and I am so excited to get all the Robot Masters!! And 52toys did 1:18th scale Captain Commando toys of the whole team! Final Fight is happening too.

Gotta admit I'm excited for Monster Force. The idea I'm digging a lot. I mean Dracula is a good guy and when first saw expected him as a villain. Know a lot of undead soldiers but many newer things coming and a Sasquatch with a mini gun is a sight that got me 👀

Eat it, massive toy companies! You know what you did!

AWoK is great! Lone Coconut is fun. Love the Fwoosh bone brawler. 2024 looks to be a fun year of new brands for me. The Animal Warriors/Battle Beasts look like fun for 2024. Savage Crucible I have a few on order. Fresh Monkey Fiction has some I’m looking forward to. Boss Fight has things to be excited about. I’m still trying to track down Toads from Bucky O’Hare.

2nd comment: I think it's Ramen toys that's brining out a 3.75 "cops n crooks" line. This will be my most sought after line coming up

I got two Animal Warriors of the Kingdom guys this week, the smaller Beast Man tribute and Vero Atlas and they've both really impressed me. The posing and expression it brings on them is just amazing. It might be the first time a shoulder butterfly joint has felt good on a figure to me.

100% agree with Animal Warriors of the Kingdom being on your list. They are the best figures that I have ever picked up and just love the posing, durability and quality. Valaverse Action Force is a great choice for Military theme characters and the villains have a more sci-fi feel to them. Plunderlings, Plunderlongs and Plunderstrongs are the figures that got me doing toy photography. Lines I'm looking forward to is Savage Crucible, and Monster Force. Love the creativity that I have found in the independent toylines. Read some of the Comics and pickup a figure. Animal Warriors of the Kingdom pick just one up and you won't regret it.

Idk, i love the figures that Boss Fight puts out but about a year ago i ordered one of their Vitruvian Hacks warrior figures and the moment i opened him up, the head snapped off at the lower neck. I contacted them and they were like "sucks to be you" (they didnt actually say that but they might as well have) so i was stuck with a broken, headless figure and what really suck is that i was going to collect the entire line. I I'll never buy from them again.

Maestro Union line by Furay Toys are incredible like Veteran William and Master Weng. Fury Toys has a non licensed tmnt line that is fun. I think they changed their name now but the first release of “not Leo” is awesome! Splinter and Donnie are up next! Felix Toys made some incredible Jokers. Both Heath and Joaquin so far. Now we need a Jack Joker. Good times!

The company making the dinosaurs made me think that it would be really cool to see a company make action figures from the cartoon Dinosaucers

All this talk of indie companies and licensed toy lines got me wondering. Which company do you think would be most likely to make the DIC version of Sonic? A line based on the old DIC Sonic cartoons and possibly the Archie Comic that succeeded them. Have you heard of anyone who might have been interested in taking that one on? I've made a few custom figures of those characters but I'm just some dude with a 3D printer.

I've been emailing the store for the last couple months, they didn't even reply. ...I guess I'm glad to hear they might not have come in yet, as opposed to them just taking my money and never shipping my figure or responding to my emails...

The Banjo Kazooie & Toads look amazing. I’ve been watching Toy Bro & Mad Hatter talk about them. I’m waiting for DNA’s upcoming Garbage Pail Kids line. Also been digging Jada Street fighters & cereal monsters. And I got to say that Robo skull and fwoosh skeleton are sweet! Love the sea creature plunder strong thing too!

Ramen Toy’s Makina line is really cool. It’s an updated version of MASK in the original scale. They released the Red Gullwing which is their version of Thunderhawk. It’s incredible!

I initially thought it weird he didn't mention them, especially since he was at a convention where others _"experienced"_ what Ramentoy had/has. Then it dawned on me that in addition to the ramen racers Ace/Ramentoy had on display, he also sold custom MOTU movie heman heads for origins and masterverse bucks and was reaching out to get licensed a new line/aesthetic of heman. It might be Dan not wanting to endorse them due to his working relationships with MOTU.

Yeah, I thought that he might not have mentioned them due to their better to get forgiveness than permission mentality. I will give them credit that they do heed cease & desist letters even though, from my understanding, they aren’t subject to US copyright laws since they are based in Asia.

I only have four Indy companies that need to be checked out. Loose collectors they have a werewolf figure and a Red Sonja that looks great. Then there is Storm Collectibles and their video game figures(Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter). Then there is ThreeZero for their larger more detailed Gi Joe and Transformer figures. Lastly Valaverse and their offshoot Action Force, the GI Joe type figures made in 6 inch scale. All great companies, I’m also sure there are more out there. Oh, I also forgot about Maestro Union and their FuRay Figures like their Master Weng.

Shout out to PLUNDERLINGS!!!!! Finally jumped down the rabbit hole got zombie bone and loved it so i got a few more. Not as articulated as I'm used to but love them. Have them scattered throughout my collection as collection gremlins. I move them around once week. Completely freaks my girl out

I would buy the green Plunder Strong. The Maxx robot are the only ones that appeal to me.

So many lines I'd love to have in my hands, but it's difficult to find some of them here in Argentina.

My gf pre-ordered the Battletoads wave for my anniversary gift about a year to 2 years ago (it's been a minute so I forget exactly how long) and when it finally arrived I was NOT prepared for that 18 inch figure. She told me they showed up in 2 shipping boxes and I was like "well yeah, that makes sense. 6 figures, 2 are big so yeah" I didn't realize that one of the shipping boxes was just for that 18 inch one. I took him out and was just like "I don't know what I'm gonna do with this thing" even the 12 inch one is a little intimidating. I gotta find a shelf just for them and make sure they don't move. Cause if one falls it's game over. They're amazing though, would highly recommend if you have the money and the space for them

Andre The Giant by Zombie Sailor Toys was brilliant.

The only independent toy company that I have purchased has been Ramen. Mainly their 80s Commanders and accompanying villians. I have pre-ordered the newest ones to the rage and The Marshall figure too. The downside is I live in the UK and there is not the same amount of retailers that would deal with these companies. A few lines have been brought in and have not been successful or other reasons. With the few toys lines going on clearance. So for people to get the toys they buy directly from the company or off eBay and pay the prices there.

I was one of the first backers of the Fwoosh deluxe skeletons, and they have not been released yet… no communication nothing. It is unprofessional of them to not contact backers and let them know what’s going on. Insolent have to hunt through social media to get info on my products that I paid for over a year ago. They’re worse than Mezco. I want the skeletons… but I don’t think I’ll be backing anything from them again. If it is readily available and priced well I might. Never doing a preorder with them though.

Premium DNA will have issues selling stuff. They are part of Megaloplis store which stole alot of money from collectors.

Really? I remember megatropolis. But BBToys seems to be a safe toy shop but based from my collector experience. They were always an easy & reliable spot for toy shopping & seem to get certain products first. Like Fwoosh & super 7s mezco. But these companies take years from announcing the toy, to pre…, & two years go by…& BBTS has the product. Meanwhile if you purchased the items directly through the company, you could be waiting.
