The only two things I wish my 2020 TRD Pro has that the Platinum has is the BSM and RCTA. The thing is.....you will never hear a TRD Pro owner say, I want to make my TRD Pro into a Platinum but you will normally hear the reverse. I’m not “hating” as each person has their own needs and preferences, but the TRD Pro is undeniably the king of the Tundras. Congrats on the Platinum.....it is a gorgeous truck and is the safer of the two trim levels.

Are the same Bilstein shocks with the Pro and when TRD off road option added to Platinum? I’m hoping they have the same but they could be different models of Bilstein shocks?

They’re increased in price due to the demand. Even the certified preowned Tundras are 10-15,000 over MSRP. I’ll wait for a newer 5.7 liter and hopefully this frenzy subsides....

2 years later im still waiting.. but the new twin turbos ride amazing. I just dont have 70k on me.

I have the ‘21 platinum and honestly the JBL system is horrible. I’m a musician and I need decent sound at least. It was so bad that at 100 miles I went and spent $10k on a serious upgrade. The sub was under powered, the highs sounded hollow and overall it’s not loud and crisp. I also own an RCF and the system is awesome being stock. Since Lexus doesn’t have a pickup, Toyota should have a better system with the platinum and limited.

Hi. Great comparison video. Gorgeous truck! Could you tell me what the opening of the back door width and height is? I want to be able to fit a 36” long x 24” wide dog crate in the backseat. Thank you!

I measured it for you and I think it will fit. But it’s close. The door doesn’t open all the way so it’s hard to tell exactly. I would suggest bringing your crate in and asking if you can put it in the backseat. Don’t worry, they’ll let you. When I test drove my truck I brought in all three of my kids car seats Just to make sure they would fit OK.

Are the power folding mirrors automatic when going through a car-wash? Is this exclusive for 2021 OR does 2020 have that feature too? Seen at 7:51!

They’re both beautiful trucks and the magnetic grey metallic is the best color of the Tundras.!

I have the same truck. Put a 3” 2” readylift, kept stock wheels but put on 33x12.50 nitto ridge grapplers (no rubbing), front and rear trd sway bars. Good look and ride for the money.

No issues with upper control arms with the 33x12.5 tires? I have a 2021 crewmax trail edition tundra I also have a 3/2 ready lift and i’m looking to upgrade my tires. I’m trying to decide between 275/70r18 or 285/75r18 or 33x12.5. I’m going to put rough country uca’s on before I upgrade my tires what’s your opinion on tire size and uca’s did u upgrade yours?

@@jeremeywright 285 75 would definitely need a body mount chop. 285 65’s might work with a 3” lift in the front and no other mods

I guess I got lucky because I wanted to buy a new 21 but didn’t. So last year I decided that it was time to upgrade from my 11 Tacoma that I had set up for over land camping because I do travel a lot for work, so the search started. Last month I wound up finding a 21 XSP, with 40k miles, in Attitude Black. The only thing I’ve done to it was color matched the hood bulge and installed a Pro grill. I’m not going to mess with anything else because I like the ride and I like it quite..lol. The only other add ons are a console vault, Weather Tech mats and rain deflectors, door sill guards and it already came with a BakFlip bed cover. So far I’m very happy with it.

Just imagine if the fuel economy was just 2-3 mpg better. I know trucks aren’t meant to be great on fuel but compared to the competition it’s just so much less. They kill in every other category aside from that and maybe technology on the interior

20 and 21 pros both have same 12 speaker jbl sound as platinum also they have the same electric seat adjustments on drive and passenger side like platinum however you can't get the trd pro bedstamp on a platinum 😉

Platinum for sure. You get all the extras with the platinum and you can always add stuff to make it like a pro. Cant do that the otherway around.

definitely the Pro 2021 are unique. I tell you because I have the PRO LUNAR ROCK and I am the only one who has this color around NC 😉 and it's not for Sale 🤭

Damn I’m in love with the trd pro. But I want them to to be combined. The sport package as well as all the platinum features. Just call in ultimate and have an all in one. Toyota doesn’t do that it’s soooo dumb. I’ll just stick with Lexus for now I guess. I do want a truck

Im having this dilemma right now. The ONLY thing I font like about thr Platinum is the wheels. I wish theyd have stuck with the limited wheels.

Sorry, both trucjs have 12 speakers and 400 watts.

Just my opinion, I see the Platinum for the older cats (50’s 60’s) TRD PRO more for the younger crowd (30’s 40’s)…

I’m 48 and last year bought a Black 2020 Tundra Platinum. Idk if it was me or not,but the truck had that old man feeling to it. 2 weeks ago my Lunar Rock Trd Pro arrived and i feel like i’m now in my 30’s 😎

Great review. I ordered a 2021 TRD Pro double cab in January 2021 and got it in June 2021. Zero regrets. I put a set up Nitto Ridge Grapplers on it (285/70/18) and it makes the truck look completely sick. Got some RCI rock sliders and a nice Leer tanau cover. What really makes the TRD Pro so enjoyable is that incredible TRD dual exhaust. It is the perfect V8 sound note. Not too loud, not too quite, just a perfect low growl. I have 61,200'ish miles on her already and I hope to have her for decades to come.

My 21 TRD Pro came with parking sensors, BSM, and RCTA. I do wish it had automatic folding mirrors, and cooled seats, but would not trade those features for the Platinum.

Things the Pro has a platinum doesn't: TRD Exhaust, TRD front skid plate, TRD Suspension, Blacked out badges, TRD grille, BBS wheels (this one is huge), Rigid Industries fog lamps, and... (drum roll please) the HOOD SCOOP!!! 😀 You'll have a tough time replicating these items and spend way more money trying to. I've sat in both (and own a Pro) and the quality of the leather in the Pro is waaaay better than the Limited or Platinum. Your Toyota dealer would tell you the same.

Say what?????????? Totally disagree with you on a couple of those items you can ask anybody from Toyota. The quality of the leather is hands-down better in the platinum than the TRD pro. That’s a fact. The TRD pro and the limited have the same off leather. Blacked out badges? Who cares about that. What you’re naming is a couple matter of opinions. If you want quality overall you go with the platinum. Now the TRD is a great truck no doubt about it special suspension and so forth it’s great. They are both winners

19 and below years were based off a lower trim level and didn't have those upgrades, my neighbor has a 20 trd pro in magnetic gray and I have 21 trd pro in lunar rock. Instagram is blameobamacare

Trd pro has same 12.speaker stereo and seats are same just different stitching. Passenger seat has power passenger seat also.. the wheels on the platinum are ugly as shit too.

Turning your Platinum into a PRO has that one HUGE advantage...............NO FAKE HOOD SCOOP!

This is why you buy the TRD pro! Just got mine so that I never say I wish I bought one and not the Platinum. Love it every minute. My wife's Lexus Luxury Package makes the Platinum Tundra look like a 1982 Camry, but guess what, we never use half of these bells and whistles.

You don't know whatfeatures are on the Pro

PRO Fox shocks, dimmer mirrors, no blind spot, blacked out. Platinum looks neutered

My tundra SR5 is better and Im already upgrade n mod 14 parts on my SR5. save me money. Trdpro is over price. LoL
