Still my favorite full size truck hands down. You can’t satisfy everyone and there will always be something to complain about when it comes to people. If they kept the v8 5.7, people would complain about how toyota didn’t update the drivetrain and complain about the mpg, if they and prolly will switch to something more efficient and modern, people will complain they want the v8 power and sound. In a perfect world they would offer both but I just don’t see that happening.

I am a very happy 78-year-old and the main reason I bought a 2021 Tundra 1794 edition is because it was the last year for a V8 engine and it has a remarkable history of reliability. My opinion is that Toyota was grant for not changing the tundra for the past 14 years because they were able to utterly perfect it rather than change it every one to two years and create new problems. I bought mine used but it had only 21,000 me on it so I did a few minor updates on it such as front and rear torsion bars. A minor bonus for me was the metallic Mesquite exterior and the wonderful tan leather interior. Given my age and the reliability of the Tundra this will likely be the last pickup I will ever need to purchase.

It's not that terrible. The turbo trucks don't get much more. I personally would've wanted a V8 hybrid. Think about it, every Toyota hybrid (Corolla, Camry, Rav4, Sienna) has a larger naturally aspirated engine, no turbo. So a new V8 with a hybrid system would be the best. The difference between the non-hybrid and hybrid will always be huge.

Hi my name is Wes Miller. I am new to your Channel I just want to say thanks for your reviews your input on the tundra I am a very big fan of Toyota always have been. this past year I just bought my first Tundra and I will never go back to a midsize truck again. To keep in my price range I had to buy a used Tundra it is a 2014 Limited Crewmax TRD off-road with 101,000 miles on it, but that doesn't bother me lol, still zhad to pay just under $25,000. But the crazy thing is, I just checked the book value on it about a year from buying, it is booked at $28,000 to $29,000 how crazy is that lol. with a 3" leveling kit in the front with a 1" block in the back LOVE IT!!! LOL. I plan on handing it down to my son around the 2030 year lol. Anyway about what you were talking about the rear window I think the best thing about that is when you roll that window down and open the moonroof there is no whistling sound or windy sound at all because with that back window lets the air flows towards your feet and up from the floor that is what makes at window really nice. And I wanted to get your opinion on them Fox shocks I wanted to get rid of the stock TRD Bilstein shocks would the fox shocks make that a better ride?

Spal, the trd should come with off road tires in the correct size so one doesn’t have to deviate from stock, I admit that I almost never keep a vehicle stock because none of them are built probably from the start, the TRD should mean something other than a sticker package, i personally find the one inch lift nothing, it should have more wheel travel and larger tires off the showroom.

I think Toyota realizes that many truck drivers replace wheels and tires quickly after buying their trucks. No matter what tire they put on there from the factory, there will be angry critics about the choice. So, they put on generic Michelins that get the job done, but doesn't excite anyone. With that said, the OEM tires are actually very capable on pavement and do ok for light duty on gravel and dirt.

I still have the 1st gen 2007 Toyota Tundra CrewMax the key flaw in Toyota's changes started with cutting corners. The biggest change was the rear sliding seat with the backs able to fold forward giving you a ton of storage space. going to the stationary lift seat did away with that. My sons 2015 sucks for storage in the back seat. then the little things like storage built into the drivers door. Then the sound system my 07 rocks with JBL and sound to blow the windows out.

Agree 100% on storage space. I just traded in my 2011 Tundra for a 2021, and the lack of storage space from the 2011 to 2021 was unbelievable. Not being able to get behind back bench was a shock, only one glove compartment which is taken up mainly by the manual. Not enough negatives though to prevent me from enjoy my new purchase.

The Toyota V8s are known to be some of Toyotas most reliable engines ever! Especially the old 4.7L. So if they're some of the best that Toyota makes, then that means they're some of the best ever! Please Toyota, do a Ford and keep a V8 option. If it isn't worth it in a couple years, pull it. Just allow people to get a V8 in the new truck. This is all wishful thinking and, I know it'll be dead on the new tundra arrival. Or you could just downsize the current 5.7 to a 4.7 and stick it in the Tacoma 😄

I am George and I am always up for some Tundra action. I have a 2016 SR5 Louisiana Edition with the 4.6 liter V8. Open-minded on the upcoming V6... We'll see how it shakes out. Also, just bought the wife a 2021 Rav 4 XLE with the Convenience Package in Lunar Rock... Everyone loves the color...

Great review. The Lunar Rock color does make the black accent look way better. Hopefully the new Tundra gets better mileage and better infotainment which I think is the only downside to it.

Love this TRD Pro, good review. First thing I did was go look up the Ford Raptor dash/interior to compare. Way too busy on the Raptor. An example of more is not better. And the back seat was a joke compared to the Crewmax. As for MPG, if you can afford a TRD Pro, losing a few MPG is not going to bother you, especially with having the 38 gallon fuel tank. And comparing again to Raptor 15/18 MPG, not a big difference. I just bought the 2021 Tundra SR5 TSS Cement Gray. My second favorite color to Lunar Rock, and when the sun hits Lunar Rock just right in your video, it looks Cement Gray.

I'm waiting to see what the V6 numbers on the next gen will be..... If it's not 24+ mpg, at least 11000lbs towing and 1800 payload, then I'll go look for a 2021 TRD pro in white.

Funny thing about this Truck is the fabric seat is more comfortable than the leather one for some reason. My buddy agrees with me and he has the top trim with the leather. He also said the fabric seat was more comfortable. I want to buy this truck too but there are like 10 different trim levels and I don't know what is what. It is so confusing.

I have been looking for a 2021 TRD Pro with a double cab but rarely see them for sale. Production numbers must have been very low or people who buy them know double cab is a great way to go. Also, when I do see one, it's always black. I have never seen a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro with a double cab in any color except black.
