Interesting explanation regarding the rubber tip on the caliper pins. I thought the rubber was meant as a anti-rattle mechanism when applying the brakes

Needed to clean the caliper pin bores to remove the old grease or lube. Looked like you used grease to relube the pins. Petroleum based products will swell the rubber. Need to use 100% silicone lube such as AGS Sil-Glyde.

Good to know. I've never had issues with brake caliper grease though.

I like to use Ceram-lub instead of 100% silicone.
