My curiosity has overcome me - would love to see the upstairs servants’ quarters. 😊 The fireplace looks spectacular - well done Michael! A true labor of love and it shows. The flecks of red on the marble match the wallpaper. So cool to have that door that slides over the opening. It’s looking great!!

Thank you for the tour! It is such an amazing building. I would have enjoyed seeing the smaller servants' rooms. Maybe another time. Sweet little Montgomery in his furry bed. What a fortunate piggy to have been rescued by the Pethericks!

That chateau is immense! I'm sure there will always be some type of maintenance or repair issue to be done, even once all your renovations are complete. People don't "own" chateaux as much as they're "stewards" of them for a time. You're doing great work at restoring and preserving one of the lovely grand homes that's been a part of France's history!

Billy you should do a sketch of the floor plan of the Chateau, I get turned so often when watching. I used to think that the temporary kitchen was on the front of the chateau & it’s on the backside. Cheers Kirk

It is interesting that the color paint that Michael chose for the panel woodwork below the wallpaper, complements well the brass of the fireplace !!! It was by chance planned it looks wonderful !!

If you have one of those rooms on each of the floors. If you rent those rooms out. I would use that room as a housekeepers closet. Put a washer and dryer on each floor, with cleaning supplies. So you don't have to keep running to the basement. That bedroom looks Beautiful!! Well done everyone!!

Michael is also right about having a luxe shower over bathtub on third floor. With view! 😅 Chateau Love did a unique faux copper finish on a tub just like that. Anxious to see finishes on that👍 too. I so enjoy watching you all bring a touch of charm and attention to detail to your projects. And I love the interaction between everyone, too. I have a suggestion I hope you follow. Before you touch the floor in the room where a leak has recently occurred, please bring down the moisture level in the wood (which has memory - you will be surprised at how seamlessly it lays back into place). Takes time of course - well worth the wait. Use a dehumidifier and make it the final room you restore, allowing the floor boards time to obtain normal moisture content.

I was in the retail fireplace business for 26 years in the States and I never saw a fireplace with a pull down screen like you there in France. I find that fascinating. Michael did such a great job polishing up the fireplace and mantel, it's beautiful. And thanks for the tour of the other bedrooms, I hadn't seen much of that part of your chateau before and I'm happy to see that there will be plenty of video's if the future.

We bought a special lamp from Amazon that gives off an orange light and flickers like a fire. We hid it under some wood sticks and it just looks like a burning fireplace. I even have a recording of the crackling of a fire to play over a bluetooth speaker. 100% safe, no smoke, no fumes, but it makes for a lot of atmosphere in the room.

I have heard of a ‘pig in muck’ but a pig in a fluffy bed is a new image for me: total contentment.

My pet runt of the litter loved her fluffy clean bed, and her baths, polishing her trotters, and picking a satin bow for her neck every morning. Given the option, they like to be clean (unless rolling in mud to protect from horseflies and the like). They are incredibly smart, make better guards than dogs, and form very deep bonds with people. Best pet you could ever have. As a runt, Fey only grew to the size of a shoat, even though her DNA was from two very big pigs. I still miss her.🖤🇨🇦

Hey guys, really enjoying the process and progress on the Chateau ❤ here's a couple unsolicited tips and tricks...to remove old paint from metal...spritz with rubbing alcohol and wipe clean...it basically comes off by itself! Also if you're removing a cast iron bathtub...and aren't wanting to save it for future use, wack it with a sledge hammer, it will bust into pieces and be much easier to get down the stairs and to the decheterie😂

Very interesting, seeing the unfinished rooms, the before & after, also! Michael's abilities continue to impress me!!! Wow, he figures out how to restore anything! And thank you, Billy, for the well earned confidence in Yanis!!! He learned from a Master Plasterer!! He will take his time & make sure his work will meet Simon's standards.

Thanks so much for the update on the Lincrusta wallpaper. The dining room is already a beautiful room, but will look absolutely stunning with its original wallpaper back!

Those gorgeous giant tubs have a lot of potential. I would maybe put one right out in the middle of the garden and just grow a hole bunch of flowers in and around it and make it a feature. I would even add the fancy shower head coming up because it would look charming. Maybe keep two just in case you ever decide to put a tub somewhere?

I love the window canopies(?) in those upper rooms. What a wonderful feature. It would be so fun to stay there.

I use my dysfunctional fireplace with candles. I put 5-7 different size big candles in. It's very beautiful and create warm and cozy feeling in cold winter evenings.

Yes even for fire sake the ones that have batteries would look nice displayed right. I do this when staging a home.
