Tour of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization | famous mummies room | Trip to Cairo 2021

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, NMEC for short, is a state museum of cultural history in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. The complex of buildings and outdoor facilities extends near the archaeological site of the former capital Al Fustat, which has been part of the World Heritage Site "Historic Cairo" since 1979.
The permanent collection is divided into two separate regions, one chronological the other thematic. The chronological areas will be the following: Archaic, Pharaonic, Greco-Roman, Coptic, Medieval, Islamic, modern and contemporary. The thematic areas will be the following: Dawn of Civilization, The Nile, Writing, State and Society, Material Culture, Beliefs and Thinking and the Gallery of Royal Mummies. UNESCO provided technical help to the museum.
The collections will be taken from other Egyptian museums such as the Egyptian Museum, the Coptic Museum, the Museum of Islamic Art, the Manial Palace and Museum in Cairo, and the Royal Jewelry Museum in Alexandria.
On 3 April 2021, the museum was officially opened by president Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, right before the moving of 22 mummies, including 18 kings and four queens, from the Egyptian Museum in an event termed the Pharaohs' Golden Parade.
When fully completed, it will display around 50,000 exhibits from all phases of human culture in Egypt, from prehistory and early history to the present day, on its more than 23,000 square meters of exhibition space.

When I was in Cairo in 2004, this museum did not exist. But I was in the Cairo Museum, and if I could, I would probably spend a few days there. Did you manage to visit this glorious museum?

You shouldn’t take photos of mummy in down stairs. Security said “no photos” to me when I was there January 6, 2024. I don’t know why you break the rule for KZread video & you filmed it.

Muy bonito pero tenia que haber sido con un ambiente más EGIPCIO y no con mucha modernidad. Es como ir al Museo Meteopolitano en EEUU. Parece que les falto más creatividad ancestral.

The museum is designed with a mixture of ancient Egyptian civilization with Islamic civilization With a touch of modernity to keep pace with the times, I mean, for example, as a simple example, the dome of the museum from the outside takes a pyramidal shape, and from inside the museum you find it a pyramid whose head is turned to the bottom, and there is a lot that is not noticed except for those who study Egyptian civilizations and know Every small detail symbolizes something. This is the intelligence of the engineer. Other than that, the museum is not specialized only for the ancient Egyptian civilization, but rather collects all Egyptian civilizations from 7 thousand years ago until the present time. Egypt passed through many civilizations.
