From journalism perspective, there are "proximity" and "important" as two of those news values. This is not a journalism product but i think has the same values. Imo, many Indonesian feel close to this video as it shows daily life (glamorous stuff isn't always most favorite) and in small city (more people live in small cities rather than metropolitan Jakarta). Some Indonesian may want to know as well about what bule think about what they do daily and about their hometown. Plus, they can learn English by seeing this video, while the content itself has so strong proximity. For foreigners, this kind of content is kinda new, so it has a strong value for them to learn. Very great job, Nick!

He has good family, nice house, able to maintain sustainable resource (the ranch), though I couldn't imagine how much of hark work he had to put to get that point. I hope I can reach that point in life as well. Also, idk if its a fact or not. Most Javanese people's houses usually has big Guest room/Area because Javanese peoples are usually friendly and close to their neighbor, they love to treat them as guest in their house so they made the house with big guest room to treat as many people as they can.

"Dirty kitchen" is mostly used for daily cooking, more complicated cooking, and cooking in huge amount, while "clean kitchen" is mostly used for representation or just cooking simple dishes. Yes, I know it's weird.

i agree, even though they struggled finding the words sometimes, they still tried their best! that's the only way to get better! Super kind and wonderful family here

16:38 nick theres some missed communication between you and her. I think She want to said theres on the plastic bag its also the goat or cow food, same thing like in the yard, but there fermented and adding some liquid for processing food first sometimes. So they fermented on those bag, and before they take for goat or cow, they need to drying first on that yard. Thats what i learn for farm. Not a plastic they eat for animals its not possible. But you had a great video again dude. What a nice scene even didnt expected them. You so lucky person had a ibnu as your best friend.
