Tour America's Most Beautiful Garden of Fountains: LONGWOOD GARDENS

Фильм және анимация

In 1906 wealthy industrialist Pierre S. DuPont purchased a 202 acre wooded plot of land 30 miles from Philadelphia as a retreat for his family and friends. The previous owners had created a 15-acre arboretum of beautiful trees that had become a popular gathering spot for the community in the 1800s. When the property was about to be purchased in 1906 by a lumber company with the intent of cutting down the woods, DuPont stepped in and purchased it and began a lifelong quest to create a world class garden filled with water fountains. Inspired by his lifelong passion for engineering and design, and his travels to the greatest gardens in Europe, DuPont began to create Longwood. This video is of my visit to Longwood Gardens in the summer of 2020.
