    Great video and very detailed needed information! Concerning the solar. There should be, at least there is on the '23 models, a black "vent" on the roof of your rig that looks like the white one(s) which is actually a conduit (wire chase) straight down to the pass through storage compartment for adding additional solar up there. Hope you have it up there. It'll save you time and an additional hole up there for you.

    Enjoyed your 45 day review and upgrade videos for your Avenue 30RLS; informative & well documented. My question is regarding your tow vehicle; standard or long bed? If standard bed how is the turning and backing clearance with this wide body trailer? I plan to upgrade from our travel trailer to a 5th wheel but trying to decide on which size truck bed to purchase when I upgrade from a 1/2 ton to 1 ton tow vehicle.

    I really appreciate your 45 day review. It was well done. My wife and I are retired and we are looking at the alliance. We do like the lighter colors that’s important. My concern is the rust as a painter of 35 years in Michigan. I understand rust should never happen. I will talk to the Lyons people if we get close to buying that.,

    Thanks for the great review. One question, do you have an issue with the sliding door between the bedroom and bathroom on the slide side at the top? It appears in the video that there is a gap that would let light through. We have a fifth wheel with a similar layout but the door is different and it does not meet the slide as yours does. I wonder if this would be a problem if someone got up in the night and turned on a light in the bathroom. Thanks again for all your hard work.

  • @tyersontheroad2607

    @tyersontheroad2607

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hello, yes there is a gap when the light is on, the one thing I wanted to mention about that I forgot, was we don't turn the light on at night, because the light switch for the bathroom is illuminated (blue) so you can find it at night, well since it is illuminated it acts as a night light in the bathroom. So unless you are really doing some major work in there the switch light is bright enough!

    I appreciate your review. Very thorough. This is the model both my wife and I agree on. My only negative is the queen bed, but I don't want to add the 2 feet to get the king option. I have a Ford F250 diesel with a 6'7" bed. I noticed in the comments that yours is 6'4". Any trouble making 90-degree turns? Are the big slides Rack & Pinion?

  • @tyersontheroad2607

    @tyersontheroad2607

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hello, the queen bed works for us, real personal choice though! and on a side note it is pretty roomy, bedroom feels pretty large! you probably could modify the room to accept a king? So for no problems with 90-deg turns, if I need more room I can always rotate my Anderson coupler on the kingpin for more swing room, the shore pin boxes would alow for this without hitting the side rails or tailgate! Thanks for the comment, great rig!!!

    Thank you for a great review! You answered the questions we had and a few we did not know to ask. We will probably be adding a 30RLS to our family this fall after we upgrade to a 3/4 ton truck. One question: Are you using the stock mattress? What is the thickness? (We upgraded our mattress to 12" and love the mattress, but do not like the extra height against the side tables.)

    That is great to hear, let us know if you have any further questions. What part of the country are you in? The mattress is about 6" thick, we did add a 2" topper and it works great, some say it is too hard, but a mattress is such a personal choice! I agree about the height vs the side tables.

    We bought a Samsung fridge years back with a bottom-freezer.. returned it after two months. Not a good concept; cold air falls. Let's keep the freezers on top where they work best. LOL... and "we travel light", all those empty spaces. Every thing I own is in my truck and camper, there is no extra space. And those cup holders in the recliner's look like a bottle of Red would fit quite nicely. Nice video, I hope to upgrade to a Valor 37V13 by year's end.

    Thanks for watching! the Norcol fridge freezer works really well, it is amazing how quickly it cools down (both compartments). Many upsides, it is lighter than a gas/absorption, does not need external vents, does not get hindered by hot weather on the outside of the coach. Not sure about the wine will have to check that out and report!!

    Hello, 3:73 I think, not the 4:10 for sure. the RAM 2500 pulls the 30 great, hardly know it is back there, can pull pretty much any grade at 60 (shifting manually to keep auto from hunting for gears). hardly ever need to use breaks down hill as the exhaust break works super well, some tricks to that... We do have a Tradesman lightly optioned, and we are very cautious of weight in the truck and rig (in front of the axles) and in the truck since the GVWR is 10K lbs. We use an Anderson hitch, only carry one propane tank, switched to lithium batteries, remove bed cover (backflip) when towing. You will love the 30RLS it is such a great rig and layout! Thanks so much for the review. We are looking to move into a fifth wheel from a travel trailer. Our favorite so far is the cougar 260mle due to the convertible space and bed slide that leaves a lot of bedroom storage. This looks like it provides more living room seating for about the same weight. We have to look at one in person before we buy.

    @tyersontheroad2607 I was wondering about that because it isn't shown on their website, but it looks like there are still are a few new ones out there.. One quick question. You mentioned in the video that you are watching your trailer weight, and you have a 3/4 ton. Are you concerned about the pin weight or towing stability? I have a 3/4 and it looks like I will be close to the max pin weight.

But I digress, works well, 3 will always work better then 2, if it gets really hot, we cover the windows with an insulating material and close the blinds, really helps out. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dWaf1LJmZ7munbA.html 29RL Link: www.alliancerv.com/fifth-wheel-avenue#29RL

    @@tyersontheroad2607 Thanks for the reply. Yeah, we've got a 30' Cougar TT right now, with all of the windows on the street side (i.e. not covered by the awning). I've added some insulated window coverings to help keep the heat out and even with dual 15k A/C's (I see that the Avenues have dual 13.5k A/C's), the Cougar has to work to keep it cool in the living area. The 15k is overkill for the bedroom, but it was all that was available during Covid. I'm sure that the Avenue is better insulated, so that would help. My wife hates the heat, so it's a big concern for her.

    Hello, we had a 2017 KZ Durango 1500 255RK, yes "1/2 Ton", was a great rig! Did not like that we could not get to the bathroom without opening a slide, learned we will never do a rear kitchen again, the tail flip would (up and down) would move dishes and wipe out the contents of the fridge. Once we parked had to re organize stuff. But the KZ Durango was a great product!

    Awesome, thanks for the feedback! I would make sure the slides have the updated ski slides, confirm you have the 3500K springs, many came with only 3000K, they will fail. stay with the 12v fridge, they work really well. Not too keen on the new cable slide system for the master wardrobe, does not go out as far as the Schwintech system. Other than that, great rig, super easy to pull, tows great! you can email me at tyersontheroad@gmail.com if you need anything further. Thank you for your informative Videos! We are going to buy the 30RLS too over the next year. I really want to get the Ram 2500 Cummins 4x4, but worried about the payload. Do you have the 2500 or the 3500? And if you were to order a new truck, what would you get with the 30RLS?

  • @tyersontheroad2607

    @tyersontheroad2607

    Hello, we pull with a 2015 Ram 2500 Tradesman 4x4. Need to be very cognitive about the payload and loading the rig, keep lighter things upfront and try and put heavier items closer/over/rear to the axels. We do tow without our tailgate now and we also leave the bed Backflip bed cover home, as well as we do not keep anything in the truck that is not essential. BTW, this truck pulls the 30rls great and handles well with the load. Keep in touch, hope to see pics of you new 30RLS soon!

    @@tyersontheroad2607 Thank you for your response and all the content! Good idea with the tailgate! Looks like we are going down the Alliance 26RD Avenue (Pun intended), so the Diesel 2500 with 1300 pin weight has plenty of room for error. Also I have had lots of feedback through other sources that the payload is underrated as to keep it Class 2 (they have to quote a 10k GVWR max), so when you subtract out the Cummins weight, it has to come from somewhere. Which makes sense as many are pulling mid 2k payloads all day long with 2k payload yellow sticker in the door. Clearly there is a breaking point to over doing it as it is not a 3500, but if Class 2 went to 10,500 lbs tomorrow, then the yellow payload sticker would likely jump 500lbs with no changes to the 2500 build/setup, for example. Again, VERY important for people to watch their weight/payload, but this is why we see/hear so much variance/opinions in the real world use/application. Lastly, have you considered a Reese/Gen-Y Goodneck or Anderson Ultimate to cut down payload weight?

    One last comment the only thing that is possibly going to sway me to purchase. The 32RLS is to have a washer and dryer hook up. Do you guys travel full-time and if so, will you miss not having a washer and dryer or do you just drive into town and do laundry somewhere?

  • @tyersontheroad2607

    @tyersontheroad2607

    Well if you go with a washer and dryer, you will most likely be into a 1 ton pickup due to the pin weight of the 32. We are part time; however our trips are normally no less then 10 days when we do head out. To date we are on our 4th 5th wheel and have never had onboard laundry, even when the kidos were little, All (most) have laundry facilities, or we go into town where there is a laundry mat, Kim likes laundry, so she does it often!! Hope this answers your question. We will be coming out with a 12+ month review here in the next month or so.
