Spaced out metal internally acts like thick armor. A AP 30-06 round will only pen 6 computer hard drives before being stopped.

Judging by the detonation, the grenade was a prop and the real charge was something much bigger pre-installed inside the vending machine and remote detonated to coincide with Ed hitting the ground.

You’d be safe against… most standard firearms for a significant amount of time, but you’d have to run eventually. It won’t last forever. The initial bullets seemed to have carved an open path for the big boys the .408.

They have internal sheet metal dividers, so that each type of drink goes stacked into it's own channel. This is a 10 channel vendor so lots of dividers. Those can be very effective at stopping bullets, because the bullets get slowed down, mangled and deviated by each succesive divider they have to go through, but only if you shoot the vendor from side to side. Shooting front to back there are gaps with not many layers for a bullet to go through.

​@@roo99710I don't think that means anything. C4 or any bomb is also just as illegal for most people. Just like how full auto modern guns are illegal for most people. Grenades are just much more dangerous to use for a video like this than a planted explosive. Grenades are actually pretty cheap and plentiful but I don't think he wants to risk getting fragd or getting a short fuse/partial det that leads to death.

This is my favorite science channel.

The M200 Intervention has been my favorite long range rifle since the mid 2000s. He’s not hitting the mag release paddle, it’s dropping mags due to how loose they fit and the recoil. I love the system and the round, but the M200 isn’t perfect. Cheytac offers other models that are more akin to regular bolt actions that the mag doesn’t work itself out of

Then the one found in the machine after the explosion wouldn't have been so intact. The big reason they made it out is because of their length. Their length makes them more stable to deflection. If a bullet doesn't deviate from its original flight orientation, it will be able to put more force on a single point (the tip) and place more force on impacted objects. Couple that with a high velocity and a lower diameter, and it slips right through.

It can be a couple things. Either the claw on the latch is worn/rounded, or somebody could've had a charging handle with a steel latch that wore/rounded the notch on the receiver that holds the handle latch. Usually happens from gripping and ripping the handle incorrectly over time. Edit: Also it could be a latchless handle that uses detents and are notorious for doing that. Any well made 7075 aluminum charging handle won't have this problem, just stay away from the ones with metal latches and cheaper 6061 charging handles. Though things can wear over time and need replacing, it just takes a long time with good quality parts.

Even though this guy will have training and consultants on all aspects of safety on what he does, it still makes my heart miss a beat when he pops a grenade and runs, I mean he could trip or slip. He is a crazy s.o.a.b but I love his content, it's always entertaining and amusing. Long may he live and continue to be crazy.. :)

That was fantastic. The grenade skit afterwards had me in stitches. It is a testiment that Ed knows what he is doing as he called "Fire in the hole" at the perfect time, so he knew how long that grenade was going to cook before it went off, also known as "don't try this at home kids", just needed to be wearing a "Professional Russian" t-shirt and it would have been perfect.

.408 is a little bit more spicy than a .50 bmg. It was meant to be used to take down hostile aircraft. The gun also has some mean rounds like the .50 bmg, it has one that is armor piercing, incendiary, with tracers that won't stop, unless you have a 2in reinforced steel wall. You should try to get those. They are out there but you need proper licenses.
