Yes Cleetus did but he should do proper tune with it,not just bolt it on and to expect magic. Yes he followed the instructions but we all know that no tuning part works without being tuned especially him. The people from Aston Martin wouldn't go out to Sema on hopes and dreams. And having to know today's F1 engines have turbocharger but it keeps spool when not in load by electronic motor.

Actually works and dyno tested! and it will get better, Audi is currently using a bi turbo system which one turbo is electric to minimize lag! This being said, i find it to be too expansive for 20 hp, there are turbo and supercharge kits out there with mapping /car specific that offers more hp and clean bolt on parts for the same price. What would make this better to purchase for this price? Make this affordable and people will buy them like crazy!

Audi and Porche and F1 had been using this concept since 2016. It's just that it's becoming more mainstream amongst automakers. The fact that you can have an electric turbo is interesting because it's the fact that you can isolate the entire ICE system to stay mechanical as an ICE without having to input an electric motor into the drive shaft or transmission in anyway. It's seemless and efficient.

Look into maxiell 3000 farad supercapacitor Bank. This system will comprise of 6 2.7 or 2.8 volt 3000 farad capacitors they need to be in conjunction with one or two car batteries it will help with the instant shock and or initial drawl of voltage from the electric motor. What this also does is it helps keep your alternator from getting such a jolt from trying to initialize and put power out instantly this lessens the wear and tear on your alternator. This will also keep the voltage inside your vehicle consistent you will not have any voltage drops.

They're a perfect example of misleading graphs. The one for the subaru actually shows it makes a very negligible difference for a short time just off idle, but yet still doesn't actually decrease spool time. I did engineering work for one of these companie as a college thesis. I promise you they are 100% bullshit. Also all their pressure readings arent actually done from am actual boost gauge they are done from the map sensor, which is easily affected by numerous outside factors. After midway through the rpm range the "torqamp" becomes a giant restriction in the intake, and when the battery dies it becomes a giant restriction.

@@patrickdufresne8485 Nothing against the tech. It just needs some proper apples to apples here and again, performance applications optimize electric motor torque by coupling them directly to drivelines instead of turbos although F1's apparently use hybrid turbos, integrating a motor within the turbo structure to help with spool until exhaust gasses push them enough. It's a different take on it and it has to take into account the absolute limits of vehicle mass with regards to battery banks and such. For more classic applications, it seems much more logical to have a "normal" turbo making use of exhaust gasses with motors coupled to drivelines. That way, they can achieve torque filling while allowing for big power addition with mass being less of an issue. It helps with weight distribution too since the big electric motors are mounted ideally.

Great video, and they do and have been around for ages its just technology in relation to DC Motors or Inverted motors has now become small and powerful enough to run charged setups without to many other problems. What's interesting is a prototype one ive seen that is a Turbo but has a DC powered motor in the middle housing...its basically designed to allow spool up but with no power loss until exhaust can power compressor fast enough. All this because they are scared of 120 year technology called electric cars haha

So am I to assume , this unit is not a progressive with the fuel pedal ? Only works at on or off ? What about a relief valve , bypass , blow off valuing ? I've always wondered about electric boosting. He also said 70 to 80 thousand RPM , and more if special spec ' ed. I'm looking in my Procharger catalog and Specs listing and not seeing anyone of thier F series all out racing from the F- 1D to the F-4x-144 and they peak at 74,000 rpm. So I think his # 's a bit ambitious. I like it anyway

They should be able to run 15KW motor on these things. Standard 48V lithium batteries come it at 30,000 mah. And at only 10c, that would be 300 amps of draw continuous from them. 300 amps times 48 volts is 14,400 watts, or 14.4KW I just rounded up because in the world of RC cars and stuff, 10c is incredibly low. Especially if we're talking about race drone batteries, which can hit 50c to 100c ratings on the batteries and withstand assloads of current draw. For reference, that would mean 144kw on the 48 volt 30,000 mah battery if it was built to the same c rating as the craziest race drone batteries. 144kw is equal to 193HP. Whereas even the basic 15KW is 20HP.

I have been saying this for some time now but anyone who thinks that a standard old set up on turbo or supercharger will beat these is wrong. Not this one but in 5 years plus mechanical ones will be useless. Technology moves faster than mechanical engineering. I say that with a heavy heart as I'm useless with computers and electronics but great with engines but it's true. I also don't have a problem with it. I just know in the future what I do will be classed as old school and will come nowhere near that. But I'm fine with it too. Good luck to the people building these and proving people wrong.

I completely agree with you. The next several years will prove incredibly interesting as far as electric motor driven forced induction. Hopefully we start seeing twin electric superchargers, capable of running 20+ psi into a 5.0L like the coyote motor. Complete with a quality intercooler and superconductors to power the turbine wheels. Instantaneous boost, increased drivability and power across the board. And hopefully they only get cheaper with time! I'm very excited to see the effect this has on all facets of the ICE industry. Imagine the potential for diesel motors. EGT monitoring will be a thing of the past and engines will be capable of much leaner running parameters, 50, 60, even 70:1 air/fuel ratios! Massive power capabilities coupled with extremely fuel efficient, low rpm cruising. As a power stoke and mustang owner I am very excited for the future.

This electric supercharger needs a bypass flap arrangement similar to a DDEC Detroit Diesel Silver series 2 stroke. In that system turbo boost pressure overcomes the spring in the flap inside the blower when the turbo spools up. The problem as I see it in this system is when the supercharger is switched off. Any motor has to suck through the small supercharger intake and in so doing it has to rotate the compressor causing unnecessary rotation (and therefore wear) of the compressor wheel bearing, as well as naturally aspirated restriction. To more fully evolve this system, a bypass flap arrangement could be incorporated into the actual supercharger. A good idea but needs work.
