I think they *are* pulse width modulated, the little "boost adjustment knob" seems to be a smooth, infinite step potentiometer, compared to a stepped voltage gate. Pretty much just a giant ESC. I would like the button always on with a radio style "volume knob" or maybe like a bicycle brake lever by the shifter that smoothly increases from "off" to full power with infinite steps in between.

@@eamh2002 Honestly I have been wondering why hybrid cars don't have electric superchargers for a decade now. They already are carrying around a big battery pack. Why not give them an electric supercharger so they can have boost and have power when you want like when passing or going up an on ramp. Best of both worlds, great fuel economy and bursts of power when you need it.

@@user-ed7wf1ks8j that dude Is claiming a maximum MAF of only 450kg/h which equals to 165lbs/min (around 165whp only) and a peak pressure of only 5psi, so not nearly as efficient as even 1 torque amp which Is only 2500usd. Maximum airflow doesnt even get Any higher than one torqueamp, letalone 2 in this setup. Any car over 150-160whp would only be restricted power wise

It's not bad for what your getting. You have to remember it isn't using the exhaust to spin up the turbo, so they spin up instantly less turbo lag. Also because it doesn't use exhaust to spin up the turbo, install is much easier.

Cost is nominal compared to typical exhaust driven turbo systems as one does not need all the extra plumbing and intercoolers. There is absolutely no parasitic loss here but I would like to see a schematic with the circuitry required and the power source/demands.

Compound system is also possible however, typically when compounding turbos it usually uses a small turbo pushing it's boost into the big turbo. The idea is? Better quality boost. That is better compressed air as the 2nd turbo can concentrate on solely compressor since #1 is feeding it boost air supply.

Just keep adding the “turbos” until it explodes

That is REALLY great! Wow! And you didn't have a piston ring rip the top of a piston off! Amazing when you consider you were using stock ring gaps and that is one of the major failure points with turbos! It would be interesting to see the air temp at the outlet when running, maybe that cooler air and the high octane fuel helps keep the rings alive? I wonder what your track time would have been like with just 2 adults in the car instead of 4?

Most stock NA engines will handle 5-6psi. Higher boost for short periods.

Sounds like supercharging with extra steps. Turbocharging (originally turbine supercharging) utilizes the wasted enthalpy of the exhaust, both pressure and heat. Ideally, the pressure is the acoustic pressure or time variant known as sound. The majority of the energy used by the compressor derives from the heat of the exhaust gas, pyrometers tote and aft of turbine indicate 200 to 400 degree decrease in temperature.

That's a parallel arrangement, meaning that you are mainly getting more volume, and the boost improvement is because a single unit is restricted. Try is with a series arrangement, where the output of one unit feeds into the other. On static tests, the boost should double, with actual air flow, in use, who knows?

eventually you'd need a bigger alternator / more batteries like on a big stereo setup, which would rob more horsepower from the engine - but if you found the right balance i'd imagine you could get pretty good power

In 1990 with my Mustang 5.0L notchback, my buddy wired up his RC remote to a propeller in the air intake. It was worth about .2 in the 1320. He was standing on the side of the track for the passes with the remote and the antenna going up and out his shirt. The interference from the track tower caused the fan to go on and off and my mass air flow to go crazy. So I’m sitting there at the line waiting for the xmas lights and my car is surging from 200rpm’s nearly stalling to 3k rpms. Ahhh 5e memories. So I appreciate this video.

That reminds me of my turbo charger failure xD - It went into overboost since the wastegate valve was stuck in closed position ... lol I floored it often until the ECM goes into limb mode due to 'non convenient sensor data' LMAO XD

When my dad was alive he would tear any part of our clothes he seen a hole in our jeans rip, little holes by your t-shirt pocket rip, back pocket rip. Tearing those lab coats up reminded me of dad how annoying it was but how much I miss it now.

Run one on the golf cart once she's back up and running again!

My car is Toyota Passo with a 1.0L 3-cyl engine producing about 70hp as a new vehicle. It's probably making much less now since mine is 15 years old. There is a mountain that my car died on an uphill once. I can now drive there (20~30mph? very slow but doesn't die at least!) with one of these electric turbo. You need to find an aftermarket MAF as well as the current controller to help the battery.

cheaper to buy a K04 which will make more boost if you got a vw like I do stock k03's can push 20 psi at their limit and are pretty cheap
